I have my LLB and LLM degrees from Istanbul Şehir University in Istanbul. I wrote my LLM Thesis on Arbitral Awards and Arbitral Decisions. I am currently a Research Assitant at Ibn Haldun University at the Department of Procedural and Execution-Bankruptcy Law. Mr Shantanu Kanade

I am an India-qualified attorney. I am engaged as a Lecturer in Law at O.P. Jindal Global University and as a Consultant with Airavat Chambers, a boutique dispute resolution law firm based in Mumbai. I am also a Visiting Lecturer at Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai, where I teach a postgraduate course on Commercial Arbitration.

I earned my first degree from Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur in 2013 and an Advanced LLM in International Dispute Settlement and Arbitration from Leiden University in 2019. Mr Mark Kantor

Mark Kantor is a retired partner of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy (now Milbank LLC), an international arbitrator in investment and commercial disputes, Adjunct Professor at the Georgetown University Law Center and Editor-in-Chief of the online journal Transnational Dispute Management. He was a member of the World Bank Group Sanctions Board (term ended Fall 2021). He is a former member of the American Arbitration Association Board of Directors and the Council of the American Arbitration Association, and former Chair of the DC Bar International Investment Committee and the DC Bar International Dispute Resolution Committee. He has authored numerous works, including Reports of Overseas Private Investment Corporation Determinations (eds. Mark Kantor, Michael D. Nolan and Karl P. Mr Kaustubh Kapoor

I am currently working as a Law Clerk to Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Judge, Supreme Court of India. I graduated from Jindal Global Law School in 2020 with a B.A. LL.B.(Hons.) degree. I participated in Vis Vienna (Speaker) and Vis East in 2018. I have also been the co-chair of the Organising Committee of the Indian Vis Pre-Moot hosted by Jindal Global University in the years 2019 and 2020. Dr Gordon Kardos

Gordon Kardos is an associate in the Gleiss Lutz Dispute Resolution Practice Group based in Frankfurt/Main, Germany, specialising in litigation and arbitration. He particpated in the 20th Vis Moot and coached in the 22nd Vis Moot, both times representing the University of Bayreuth, Germany, and has been Vice President of the Bayreuth Moot Court Association. In 2021, he worked as a trainne lawyer at the German Arbitration Institute (DIS).

Mr Roland Karger

I have graduated from the Johannes Kepler University Linz (Austria) and was a Vis Moot participant in 2018/19. During my studies I completed an exchange year at Nagoya University (Japan) and specialized in European and International Law as well as Foreign Law. During my studies I worked and interned at various law firms, companies, and international organizations, including UNCITRAL, the Vienna International Arbitral Centre (VIAC) and the Austrian Supreme Court.

I am currently a Legal Officer at the Austrian Supreme Administrative Court. Mr Salih Kartal

Salih Kartal, MCIArb is a Turkish qualified attorney-at-law working in Çakmak Attorney Partnership in Istanbul. He primarily focuses on M&A projects, corporate law matters and commercial disputes. He is experienced in international commercial arbitration and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb). He graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 2018 and is currently pursuing a Private International Law LLM in Istanbul University.

He participated in 24th and 25th Vis Moots as a team member and received Honourable Mention for the Martin Domke Award for Best Individual Oralists. Currently, he is the Vis Moot team of the Istanbul University.

Prof Joshua Karton

Joshua Karton is an Associate Professor and the Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and Research at the Queen’s University Faculty of Law, and an independent arbitrator. He holds a BA from Yale, a JD from Columbia, and a PhD from Cambridge. Before commencing his academic career, he practiced in litigation and arbitration at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP in New York.

Professor Karton teaches and writes about international and comparative commercial law and dispute resolution, especially international arbitration. In general, his research explores what happens when members of diverse communities—legal, cultural, linguistic—meet in the international legal arena. Ms Evanthia Kasiora

Evanthia Kasiora is an Associate in the International Arbitration Practice of White & Case in Paris. She works in commercial and investment arbitration, with an emphasis on the energy and construction sectors. Evanthia is qualified in Greece and registered as an EU lawyer in France. She holds an LLM in International Business Law from the London School of Economics. She participated at the 25th Vis Moot with the team from the London School of Economics and has been active in the Vis Moot since then. Evanthia is the Vice President of the Moot Alumni Association.

Mrs Ilma Kasumagic

Ilma Kasumagić works as an independant attorney at law in cooperation with Wolf Theiss Sarajevo and she is a member of Wolf Theiss Competence Centre for Arbitration which consists of experts across 13 offices in CEE/SEE region acting as counsels in domestic and international arbitration proceedings. Her main practice areas are dispute resolution, corporate matters and MA transactions. Ilma is also engaged as a teaching assistant at the University of Zenica on civil law department for courses Commercial Law and Corporate Law. In cooperation with Civil Law Development Program of US Department of Commence she coordinated the implementation of the Willem C. Mr Rostislav Kats

Rostislav specialises in dispute resolution before state courts and arbitral tribunals under ICC, SCC, HKIAC, ICAC Russia, RAC Rules and ad hoc arbitrations, in particular in relation to (construction) contracts, supply of goods and services, loan agreements, corporate agreements. Rostislav has extensive experience working for top boutique law firms listed in international and internal rankings. In addition to his dispute resolution practice, he has worked on various construction contracts with a value in excess of €1 billion, has considerable experience in cross-border supply contracts and has worked on sanctions-related issues.

He holds an LLM in International and European Law (specialising in investment and commercial arbitration) from the University of Amsterdam and a bachelor's and master's degree from Perm State University. Mr Emmanuel Eugenio Kaufman

Emmanuel Kaufman is Counsel at Wolf Theiss. He is a member of the Disputes and Construction teams and specialises in international commercial and investment arbitration as well as construction disputes. He has gained considerable experience working under the major arbitration rules, including the ICC, ICSID, UNCITRAL and Vienna Rules. Emmanuel focusses on disputes in the CEE/SEE region and on disputes involving, in particular, Spanish and South American parties. Before re-joining Wolf Theiss, where he started his career as Associate and Senior Associate, Emmanuel spent several years as partner in a disputes boutique. He also gained experience at a well-known law firm in Argentina and as legal counsel at the National Senate Chamber of Argentina. Ms Lucy Keane

I am qualified in five jurisdictions: England & Wales, Scotland, New York, Ireland and Gibraltar. I specialise in international commercial litigation and arbitration. I practise as counsel with Signature Litigation in Gibraltar. I am a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. I hold the CIArb Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration.

I practised at the Bar in the UK for a number of years in commercial litigation and arbitration covering disputes in the fields of commercial contracts, financial services, real estate and oil & gas. I have also been involved in many cases involving professional negligence. I have conducted cases as counsel before all levels of courts and tribunals, including the House of Lords in London.

Ms Rose Kennedy

Rose Kennedy is an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Vermont. She was the elected State's Attorney, or chief prosecutor, in Rutland County, Vermont from 2015 to 2022. She has prosecuting all crimes from petit thefts to homicide. She began her prosecutorial career in 1999 and spent many years focused on prosecuting sexual assaults and serious child abuse cases. Ms. Kennedy went to law school at The American University in Washington D.C. ; she also studied at the Law Faculty of the University of Ottawa. Before moving to Vermont, Ms. Kennedy worked at a large D.C. law firm and focused on international trade legislation and litigation. Ms. Kennedy received a Bachelor's degree from The American University, focusing on political science and international relations. As part of her undergraduate degree, Ms. Kennedy studied in Vienna, and is very please to return to this amazing city for the Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot.

Mr Pushkar Keshavmurthy

Pushkar serves as a Case Manager at the Mumbai Centre for International Arbitration (MCIA). He is an Indian qualified Advocate (enrolled at the Karnataka State Bar Council) and an accredited Commercial Mediator. Prior to joining the MCIA, his practice included commercial litigation and arbitration disputes arising from diverse sectors and industries in Bangalore. He is a Fellow at the Global Policy, Diplomacy, and Sustainability (GPODS). He was one of the oralists of his university's team at the XXVI Willem C. Mr Anubhav Khamroi

Anubhav is working as an associate in the Banking & Finance, Restructuring & Insolvency practice group of Khaitan & Co. Ms Azal Khan

Azal Khan is an Associate in the International Arbitration group of Clifford Chance based out of Frankfurt. Her practice focuses on international commercial arbitration, investor-State arbitration and State-State dispute settlement. Mr Faruq Khan

Have been an active Arbitrator in the construction sector for over twenty years now. Am a Fellow and Chartered Arbitrator of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb). Teach Arbitration at Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, Scotland. Am very actively engaged in preparing qualifying examinations for Arbitrators for CIArb, setting, marking, moderating etc, which I have done for over a decade now. I have participated as a member of the arbitration panel on last year's (2020) on-line Vis East Moot; and have been providing assessment and feedback on parties' memoranda for Vis East since 2015.

Mr Vahe Khojayan

Vahe Khojayan is a partner and the head of Bankruptcy Practice of the Los Angeles office of YK Law, LLP. Mr Mohit Khubchandani

Mohit Khubchandani is a Visiting Foreign Lawyer in the International Arbitration Group of WilmerHale, London, where he works with Prof. Gary Born. He has a

Ms Hanie Kiaee

I graduated as the first E-commerce law student in Iran since then have been practicing as a legal advisor. Besides, I believes that ADR is a strong pillar to justice and a bridge to modern law. Mr Jan Kieszczyński

Ms Victoria J. Kigen

Victoria J. Kigen, a Kenyan licensed attorney with over 5 years’ experience in dispute resolution, is currently a Case Counsel at the Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration (NCIA) – Kenya’s premier Institutional Arbitration body. Ms. Victoria is responsible for handling NCIA administered proceedings, including contract-based administrations in both governmental and private parties' disputes, among others. Marc Krestin (1982) is a Partner at the Amsterdam office of the international law firm Pogust Goodhead and co-head of the firm's International Arbitration group. Mr Niels Kurth

Niels Kurth is a Ph.D. candidate and research assistant at the Leibniz University Hannover, Germany. He specializes in the fields of international private law and international civil procedure. Megan C. Labgold is a registered U.S. patent attorney specializing in international commercial arbitration and patent litigation.

Ms. Labgold earned her bachelor's degree in biology from West Virginia University and her JD from Florida International University College of Law (FIU). While at FIU, Ms Labgold was a member of the International Commercial Arbitration team and represented FIU at the 26th Annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna, Austria.

Ms. Labgold has been involved in all phases of international commercial arbitrations, including participating in in-person and remote hearings in arbitrations seated in Tokyo, Hong Kong and New York. In addition to her role as counsel, she has served as Tribunal Secretary in a complex arbitration that included claims of patent infringement, breach of confidentiality and misappropriation of trade secrets. Ms. Labgold has also published on various topics in international commercial arbitration.

She is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at FIU and serves as a Coach of FIU's Vis Moot team.

Mr Pavel Lacko

Pavel Lacko has been a coach of the Comenius Vis Moot team since 2010. He participated at the Vis as a student in 2009. He studied law at the Comenius University in Bratislava and the University of Copenhagen. He is also a graduate of the Cambridge University where he finished his LL.M. degree in 2011 (specialization in commercial law). He has been working as a trainee since 2009 and was admitted to the Slovak Bar Association as an attorney in 2013. In his practice he specializes in general commercial and corporate law, IP and IT law, arbitration and private international law. Since 2011 he is also a lecturer at the Comenius University where he teaches the courses concerning international commercial arbitration and private international law.

Dr Tanneke Laffargue-Haak

Dr Tanneke LAFFARGUE-HAAK
Dr Tanneke Laffargue-Haak currently works at the EPO, the patent office for Europe where she has judged patents for more than two decades in the field of life sciences, in particular pharmaceuticals and medical devices. She conducted more than 150 oppositions in English, German and French. Tanneke was also involved in training and coaching patent examiners at the EPO and national offices, as well as European patent attorneys.
Confronted with the limits of post grant inter partes administrative procedures, Tanneke got interested in ADR for resolving patent disputes. She earned a post graduate diploma with Merits in international commercial arbitration from Queen Mary in 2012 and intends to work as an independent arbitrator and technical expert for cross-border life science patent disputes in the near future.
A native of the Netherlands, Tanneke’s education covers pharmacy, business administration and law and has been acquired across Europe (Utrecht, Grenoble, Toulouse, London, Geneva). Prior to serving at the EPO in Munich, she worked in pharmaceutical industry in charge of marketing authorisations for veterinary medicines.

Ms Veronika Lakhno

Veronika Lakhno holds an LLM degree from Harvard Law School and an MJur degree from the University of Oxford. Veronikagraduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University with honours in 2016 (LLB) and obtained her Master Degree in 2018; she started her Ph.D. in 2018 at the same university. From 2018 until 2020 s she has been working as an Associate in International Arbitration practice group in the largest Russian-headquatered law-firm EPAM. She mostly specialised in international investment and international commercial arbitrations. Starting from February 2020 Veronika acts as a Regional representavive of LCIA YIAG in Russia &CIS.
Veronika has significant moot court experience. She participated in 23rd and 24th Vis Moot as well as FDI Moot 2016. She received honourable mentions as an individual speaker in both FDI Moot and Vis Moot, where she advanced to the Round of 16.
Veronika coached Lomonosov Moscow State University Vis Team for three years. The Team advanced to the Round of 32 in 25th Vis and became a semi-finalist in 26th Vis. Veronika also coached Lomonosov's FDI Team that won the Global Rounds in 2018. Veronika was a member of the FDI Case Committee and drafted the Problem for FDI Moot 2019.

Dr Behrad Lalani

Behrad Lalani is currently working at the Regional Court of Bielefeld as an intern ("Referendar"). Prior to that he was a research assistant at the University of Bielefeld at the chair of Prof. Dr. Ansgar Staudinger, where he finished his dissertation letter. During this period he coached the Bielefeld Vis Moot Team for the last three years. This year he is also helping the team as a consultant.
Aside from the university he worked in a research group for the Federal Ministry of Justice regarding legal difficulties of artificial intelligence.

Ms Svenja Langenhagen

Svenja Langenhagen studied law at the University of Hamburg, Germany. During this time she participated in the 22nd Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court as a team member. Afterwards, in course of her studies, she specialized i.a. in private international law and in international procedural law. In order to gain practice experience Svenja Langenhagen worked in a law firm specialized on insolvency law, thereby passed her first state exam and coached the Vis Moot Team of the University of Hamburg for the 26th Willem C. Vis Moot Court. Ms Vinka Damiandra Ayu Larasati

Vinka Damiandra Ayu Larasati is a legal consultant who received her Bachelor of Laws from Universitas Indonesia in 2018, with a focus on private international law.

She is currently at one of the biggest legal consulting firms in Indonesia, Soewito Suhardiman Eddymurthy Kardono (SSEK) with experiences in arbitration and dispute resolutions, banking and finance, mergers and acquisitions, foreign investments and general corporate and commercial matters.

During her university years, Vinka served as an intern at Rajah & Tann LLP, Singapore, where she assisted with international arbitration matters. She has also represented Universitas Indonesia in several international moot court competitions, particularly in the 2017 Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court Competition in Vienna, Austria and the 2018 International Maritime Law Arbitration Moot Court Competition in Brisbane, Australia, while concurrently serving as the Vice President of the university's International Law Moot Court Society. I currently practice law and am a certified arbitrator. I am also an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Minnesota Law School (USA), where I have served as Director of the law school's International Moot Court Program and advisor to and coach of the law school's Jessup International Moot Court, DM Harish (Mumbai) Moot Court, and Vis Moot Court teams. Mr Christopher Lau

Bronwyn is a partner at Thomson Geer practising in international commercial arbitration and cross border litigation and an international arbitrator. Amongst other roles, Bronwyn is a Fellow of ACICA, a director of the Australian Disputes Centre and empanelled with SIAC, HKIAC, AIAC, NZIAC and KCAB International.
Bronwyn has specific experience in international trade matters, including trade credit insurance. Mr Eduardo Lobatón Guzmán

Eduardo Lobatón works as an associate at Hogan Lovells in its Mexico City office in the commercial arbitration, commercial litigation and antitrust practices. Eduardo is passionate about arbitration and litigation, and has participated in complex arbitration proceedings -domestic and international- and litigation cases, and has also been involved in procedures for the annulment and recognition and enforcement of arbitration awards.
He has advised companies in different industry sectors, including insurance, construction, energy, technology, automotive, among others.

Mrs Dr. Anna-Gesine Lock

Anna-Gesine Lock has been a lawyer at Oppenhoff & Partner in Cologne since 2017. She specialises in litigation and arbitration. Anna-Gesine Lock advises and represents national and international enterprises in civil, mercantile and commercial law disputes. Mr Faustino Locria

Carlos Faustino Locria is an independent practicing lawyer in the area of International Law and Company Law –Commercial, Tax, Administrative, Private and Labour Law. She participated in the Willem C. Vis Moot in 2011/2012 and coached the team the following year. She wrote her PhD thesis on international commercial arbitration and commercial law.

Dr Ulrich Lohmann

Dr. Ulrich Lohmann is partner at Peters, Schönberger & Partner (https://www.psp.eu/de/psp-team/ulrich-lohmann) in Munich. I participated twice in the Vis Moot, once as an oralist for Reykjavik University in 2018 (round 64), and the second time as Student-Coach for University of Montpellier in 2019. In 2020, I was coach for University of Nice as well as arbitrator for the online hearings.

Mr Colin Loughran

Following Graduation from Liverpool John Moores University in 1991, Colin joined Edmund Nuttall as
a Quantity Surveyor and followed the Nuttall ICES training programme. In 1993 Colin Joined Lagan
Holdings Limited as a Senior quantity surveyor and then progressed to Project manager in 1994 on a
military airfield project. Over the following 23 years at Lagan Colin developed the airfield and
International business into one of the most respected in the UK and completed projects in more than
20 countries. Colin was also Commercial Director on the construction of the pavements at the new
airport at Chek Lap Kok in Hong Kong. In 2010 Colin became Chief Executive of Lagan Construction
Group and overseen the growth of the business from £100m to £350m. In March 2017 Colin stepped down
from the Chief Executive position to establish Loughran Associates to pursue his
interest in International Arbitration and all forms of dispute resolution.

Mr John Lowe

John W. Lowe serves as an international arbitrator and mediator. Jud Mathews is an Associate Professor of Law at Penn State Law and an Affiliate Professor in Penn State's School of International Affairs. Titled Extending Rights’ Reach: Constitutions, Private Law, and Judicial Power, the book explores how constitutional rights reshape legal relations among private parties in different jurisdictions.

Prior to joining Penn State Law, Professor Mathews was a visiting assistant professor at the University of Illinois College of Law. After law school, he worked as a law clerk for Judge Guido Calabresi on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

I am currently the Head of Arbitration Professional Practice for the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in London, England, UK. I am the CIArb's Editor of the Journal of International Arbitration, Meditation, and Dispute Resolution and I work with UNCITRAL Working Groups II and III on behalf of the CIArb. I hold a JD from Southern Methodist University, an LLM in Comparative and International Dispute Resolution from Queen Mary University of London, and a PGDip in International Commercial Arbitration from the CIArb. Ms Emily McMurtry

Emily is a lawyer and arbitrator with the Ottawa (Canada) office of Dentons Canada LLP. Her practice focuses on commercial litigation, where she acts on various arbitration matters (international and domestic), construction disputes, shareholder litigations, leasing matters, real estate development matters and professional negligence claims. In her arbitration practice, Emily has represented clients in domestic and international disputes involving product liability claims, mining industry agreements and construction disputes. She has experience under several institutional rulesets, including the ICC, ICDR, CIArb, JAMS, and ADRIC. An award-winning speaker, Emily won top honours at the Foreign Direct Investment Moot in Buenos Aires Argentina in November 2016. She then went on to compete in and win the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in 2017 with the University of Ottawa. In 2018, she competed with the University of Ottawa’s Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition team, winning the national championship.

Emily was appointed to the Fruit and Vegetable Dispute Resolution Corporation’s (“DRC”) roster of arbitrators in January 2022, after having completed the DRC’s Arbitrator Training Course. As an arbitrator for the DRC, Emily decides international commercial disputes arising between DRC members in relation to transactions for fresh produce in North America.

Dr Hessam Mehrabi

Hessam* is a member of the Iranian Bar Association and he has been practising law in the fields of commercial arbitration, civil litigation, and energy law for almost 10 years.
He has recently completed the LLM (Common Law) program at Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia to fulfill the requirements for become a lawyer in Canada. He is now doing his articling at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP in Vancouver.
Before moving to Canada, Hessam has completed an Advanced LLM in International Civil and Commercial Law at Leiden University for which his dissertation concerned the assessment of damages in international arbitrations. He did his first LLM in Economic Law at Shahid Beheshti University in Iran. Mr Raghav Mendiratta

Raghav Mendiratta is a qualified lawyer in India. He is currently pursuing an LL.M. at the London School of Economics (LSE) and is also a member of the Department of Law's Teaching Committee. He is alumni of the Vis Moot and was an oralist at the 14th Vis East Moot, 2017. At the moot, his team was awarded the Fali S. Nariman award for Best Respondent Memorandum (Honourable Mention) and they also emerged as the Winners of the 1st ICC - KLRCA Vis Pre-Moot Competition, Malaysia. His mooting achievements include being a Top 10 Oralist at the World Rounds of the Oxford-Price Media Moot Competition, 2018 and winning the South Asia Rounds of the Competition. He has a diverse experience in domestic and International Arbitration and interned at the Asian International Arbitration Centre, Malaysia, a Tier 1 Dispute Resolution firm in India and clerked with two sitting judges of the Indian Supreme Court.

Mr Stavros Michalopoulos

Stavros Michalopoulos is a Doctoral Candidate in International Law at the Kapodistrian University of Athens. He holds an undergraduate degree in law from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and two LLMs from the University of Cambridge and Georgetown University. He is a third-year associate at the arbitration department of Cleary Gottlieb in Paris. Trilingual French, German and English, Caroline Ming, Executive Director and General Counsel at the Swiss Chambers’ Arbitration Institution (SCAI), has a very diverse and general legal and management background. Prior to joining SCAI, she notably worked at the Geneva Administrative Court, at two major Swiss law firms in Geneva and Zurich (Python Peter ; Bär & Karrer) as an associate, then for 9 years as international legal counsel, strategic project and program manager at the multinational group SGS Société Générale de Surveillance SA where she advised and negotiated contracts and handled disputes all over the world (incl. litigation, arbitration, and mediation cases). Mr Martin Molina

Martin Molina is a dispute resolution partner with Kellerhals Carrard in Zurich. His practice focuses on domestic and international litigation and arbitration in a wide variety of economic sectors and legal matters. Eric is a partner in a boutique firm in Toronto and previously litigated at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP. Before joining Osler, Eric worked at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP in London, during which time he was seconded to the Bank of England and the litigation and special investigations team of Barclays Bank plc. He also taught criminal law at Oxford University. He is on the advisory board of Young Canadian Arbitration Practitioners and chaired the Policy and Advocacy Committee. He has been a ICC Young Arbitrators Forum representative.

Eric obtained his law degree from Oxford University and a degree in economics from the University of Toronto. He qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2010, and was admitted to the Ontario bar in 2011.

Eric has appeared as counsel before the Supreme Court of Canada, courts at all levels in Ontario, and in arbitrations and mediations. He has also made submissions to the Ontario Legislature regarding arbitration legislation.

Mr Terry Moritz

Terry Moritz Esq. is an active commercial arbitrator and serves on numerous panels of domestic and international arbitral institutions. He has served as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the States of Minnesota and Illinois. He successfully represented Illinois before the United States Supreme Court. He has represented members of the Illinois Supreme Court in disputes raising Constitutional Separation of Powers issues, served as Special Litigation Counsel to the Illinois Regional Transportation Authority and the Chicago Transit Authority and has arbitrated over 100 matters in the electrical energy and renewable energy fields as well as general commercial matters.
Mr. Moritz resides in Chicago with his wife of 55 years and is active in numerous charitable organizations and ADR organizations. He is an avid bike rider and reader and a knowledgeable collector of contemporary art.

Professor Joe Morrissey

Professor Morrissey has been a law professor at Stetson University College of Law since 2004. He has taught and published in the areas of international private law, contracts more generally, corporate and securities law, and constitutional law. In 2008, Wolters/Kluwer published his first book, International Sales & Arbitration, which combines a focus on international contract law with the mechanism of dispute resolution most often used in those transactions, arbitration. That book is now in its second edition (2017) and is a terrific preparatory tool for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot.

Before joining the legal academy, Professor Morrissey practiced business law at Mayer, Brown (Chicago, London, and Tashkent); and at Kirkland & Ellis (Chicago). He later was Counsel and Vice President at Unifund, an investment fund based in Geneva, Switzerland, where he oversaw investment into the Russian economy.

Professor Morrissey earned his J.D. at Columbia University, and his A.B. at Princeton University.

Professor Margaret Moses

Professor Moses is Professor of Law and Director of International Programs, Loyola University Chicago. A scholar in the field of international commercial arbitration, the third edition of her treatise on international commercial arbitration was published in March 2017 by Cambridge University Press. She has participated as an arbitrator or an advocate in arbitrations under the auspices of the ICC Court of Arbitration and the AAA International Centre for Dispute Resolution, as well as in ad hoc arbitrations. Olivier Mosimann is a partner at Kellerhals Carrard, one of the largest and leading law firms in Switzerland. He co-chairs the firm’s Arbitration Practice Group and specializes in international commercial arbitration and commercial litigation. Professor Denis Mouralis

Denis Mouralis is full professor of law at Aix Marseille University (France). He holds a LL.B and a PhD in law from Paul Cézanne University (France) and a LL.M from McGill University (Canada). He specializes in arbitration law, international disputes resolution, international economic and business law, and international contracts. He publishes and teaches regularly in these fields, in France and abroad. Denis is also an attorney at the Paris Bar, and counsel of the Centre for Mediation and Arbitration of Paris (CMAP) and regularly takes part in international arbitral proceedings, as counsel, arbitrator or presiding arbitrator. He is a member of several professional and academic organisations, such as the Centre of Economic Law (Aix Marseille University), the ICC Institute of World Business Law, the Dutch Arbitration Association, the French Arbitration Committee, and the French Society of Air and Space Law. Mrs Natalia Mouzoula

Natalia is an LL.M. Candidate at the Geneva Master’s in international Dispute Settlement (MIDS). She holds an LL.B. and an LL.M. in Public International Law from the University of Athens (Distinction), as well as a Minor in Finance from the American College of Greece.

Prior to attending the MIDS, she worked as trainee lawyer in the legal department of a firm based in Athens, dealing with issues of Corporate and Tax Law. She has also completed an internship in a law firm specialising in Corporate Law and Capital Markets.

During her studies, she participated in the International Commercial Willem C. Vis Moot Court Competition both as a team member and as a coach of the University of Athens team, and sat as arbitrator during the academic year 2018 – 2019 in Premoots and Final Rounds. Ms Yulia Mullina

Yulia has been serving as the Executive Administrator of the Russian Arbitration Center since 2019. Prior to that, Yulia had worked on this project since its very beginning in 2016. Mr Quentin Muron

Brandon Nagy is an attorney who practices Commercial Litigation, International Arbitration, and Dispute Resolution at Stinson LLP in the Washington DC office. Mrs Nadia Ohlhoff-Smahi

Nadia Smahi is a Swiss-qualified attorney, who participated in the 20th Willem C. Vis Moot as a team member for Stockholm University. She studied Law at the University of Geneva, Switzerland, as well as Stockholm University, Sweden (LL.M. in International Commercial Arbitration Law). She also worked as an intern for the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Paris and as a trainee in the Dispute Resolution department of Allen & Overy LLP in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. She then worked as an Arbitration Assistant to Professor Pierre Tercier in Fribourg, Switzerland and as a Trainee Lawyer in International Arbitration for Lenz & Staehelin in Geneva, Switzerland. She now works as an Senior Associate in Internatinal Arbitration for Bär & Karrer in Geneva, Switzerland.

Dr Leonardo Ohlrogge

I am a senior associate in the dispute resolution team at Meyerlustenberger Lachenal and I advise and represent clients in domestic and international arbitration proceedings.

Prior to joining MLL, I worked in the arbitration departments of top-tier law firms and gained solid experience in commercial and investment arbitration.

I also have experience in international contracts and M&A. Before moving to Switzerland, I specialized as a corporate lawyer in Germany and Brazil.

Regarding my education, I hold a Ph.D. from the University of St. Gallen and an LL.M. from the University of Frankfurt. During my undergraduate studies in Brazil, I spent three semesters as an exchange student at the University of Freiburg (Germany).

In June 2020, I published the book Multi-Party and Multi-Contract Arbitration in Brazil.

I was admitted to the Brazilian bar in 2011 and to the Portuguese bar in 2019. I hold both Brazilian and German citizenships.

Mr Akinbobola Olugbemi

Akinbobola Olukayode Olugbemi is a Nigerian qualified legal practitioner, who is also currently studying to become an England & Wales qualified legal practitioner (through the QLTS) and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK. He has prior experience advising parties on complex corporate-commercial matters in Banking and Finance, International Trade, Project Finance and Construction, Deep Seaports, Compliance and Investigations, Energy and Natural Resources and Dispute Resolution, all from a Nigerian law perspective.

He has just completed coursework and assessments in a Masters of Law in International Commercial Law with Professional (International Arbitration) Skills at the University of Aberdeen, UK. He has in-depth understanding of International Investment and International Commercial Arbitration.

He is also billed to commence a Research Masters in Energy and Natural Resources Law at the University of Calgary, Canada in January 2021.

Brazilian/Luxembourger lawyer admitted to practice in Brazil. Experienced in Civil and Labour Law litigation, as well as Trade Law, with an internship taken at the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) in Vienna. Currently LL.M. Candidate at the Geneva Masters in International Dispute Settlement (MIDS) and Master of Science (M.Sc.) candidate in International Private Law at the Federal University of Santa Catarina.

Mrs Beatrice Onica Jarka

My name is Beatrice Onica Jarka and I graduated law in 1993 from Bucharest University, Romania.
I hold a 1994 master degree in comparative constitutional law from Central European University and University of State of New York and another one dated 1995, from Catholic University of Leuven in international law, granted cum laude. I hold also a Ph. D in International law from the Romanian Academy, Institute for Juridical Research. I have been practicing as an attorney at law in international business law and international arbitration since 1993 and since 1996, as a partner in Cunescu, Balaciu & Asociatii (www.cunescu.ro), advising and representing many national and international clients in national and international arbitrations. Dr Emilia Onyema

Dr Emilia Onyema is a Professor in International Commercial Law at SOAS University of London; and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Dr Onyema’s teaching and research covers international sales law, law and development in Africa, international commercial arbitration and international investment law. She is an independent arbitrator and she is qualified to practice law in Nigeria and as a solicitor in England & Wales. She advises companies in these fields. She holds a PhD in international commercial arbitration and is widely published in this area. Ms Cynthia Or

Cynthia is a Merger and Acquisition associate at Baker & Mckenzie with both Hong Kong and New York qualifications. She participated in both Vis East and Vis Vienna, in 2013-14 as an oralist and in 2014-2015 as a coach of the Chinese University of Hong Kong team. Prior to her Juris Doctor degree with CUHK, Cynthia attended the University of California, Berkeley and graduated with double majors in Economics and Political Science.

Mr Cihan Orese

My first visit to Vienna was during 2011 when I started studying at the Technische Wien. I left in order to pursue a law degree, and through a serendipitous event, I learned about the moot and taken initiative to start a team on behalf of the faculty. Our university's first participation was in 2016. I have been practicing law since 2017 and started my own practice in Jan 2020. I was sure to continue my involvement in the moot community when I was a mootie, and now I am willing to volunteer as an arbitrator.

Mr Jan Ortgies

Jan Ortgies is the Legal Adviser to H.E. Judge Bruno Simma at the Iran-US Claims Tribunal in The Hague and an arbitrator and Tribunal Assistant/Secretary in several (Investment) arbitrations (ICSID, ICC et al). Prior to that, he was a sixth year associate in the International Arbitration Group of Clifford Chance in Paris, France, which he had joined from Allen & Overy in Amsterdam. He was awarded the Amsterdam Order of Lawyer's prize for the best young litigator in 2013 and was named the Best Young Professional Law of the Netherlands in 2015. He holds LLMs from Stanford Law School and the University of Amsterdam.

Ms Tamari Ortoidze

Ms Ortoidze is a Corporate Lawyer/Compliance Officer at Insurance Company GPI Holding and a candidate of Master of Law and Business at Bucerius Law School. She has a demonstrated history of providing legal support and consultancy.

Ms Ortoidze participated at the 27th Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot from Ilia State University. She was a Research Assistant for the second edition of the world renowned book ‘Global Sales and Contract Law’ (GSCL), published by the Oxford University Press, with Prof. Dr. Ingeborg Schwenzer and Prof. Dr. Edgardo Muñoz.

Her main areas of interest include International Business Law, International Commercial Arbitration, International Private Law, Corporate Law, M&A, Banking and Finance, Capital Markets, Compliance and Corporate Governance.

Ms Zoe O'Sullivan

Zoe O'Sullivan KC is an experienced barrister and arbitrator practising from Serle Court Chambers, Lincoln's Inn, London UK. She was called to the English Bar in 1993 and appointed King's Counsel in 2015. She specialises in international dispute resolution and is frequently appointed as presiding, sole and co-arbitrator in arbitrations under the ICC, LCIA and UNCITRAL rules and in ad hoc arbitrations.
