Mr Alexander Fessas
Alexander G. Fessas is the Secretary General of the ICC International Court of Arbitration. As Secretary General, he is responsible for the work of the ICC Court’s Secretariat and other dispute resolution services in Paris, Singapore, New York, Sao Paolo, Hong Kong and Abu Dhabi Global Market. He read law at the University of Athens, Greece having specialized in international commercial transactions and conflict of laws. Mr Gustav Flecke-Giammarco

Cherine Foty is a Senior Associate in the International Arbitration Group of Covington & Burling LLP, based in Washington, D.C. Dr Risham Garg
Dr. Risham Garg is Associate Professor of Law and also the Director of the Centre for Transnational Commercial Law at the National Law University Delhi, INDIA. He holds a Doctor of Laws (LL.D.), doctoral research degree, on Contracts of International Sale of Goods titled "UN CISG Convention- A Case for Ratification by India". He teaches courses on ‘Bankruptcy Insolvency & Restructuring’ and ‘International Commercial Laws’ in the LLM programme, he also teaches courses in the BA.LLB. program on Law of Contracts, Sale of Goods and Seminar Courses of International Commercial Laws, Private International Law.
He acts as an Arbitrator at the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot on the International Sale of Goods (CISG Convention) at Vienna and at Hong Kong. He has been a Visiting Research Scholar at UNCITRAL, Vienna, Austria in 2007. He is continuing with the National Law University Delhi since 2009. Ms Lucie Gerhardt
Lucie Gerhardt is an associated partner at Noerr LLP in Frankfurt am Main. Her practice focuses on commercial and investment arbitration as well as complex, large-scale international litigation. She represents German and international clients in commercial, corporate and civil disputes before German courts and in arbitrations under various arbitration rules as well as in ad hoc proceedings. Ms Thara Gopalan
Thara graduated from the University of Bristol with a Bachelors of Law, and from the University College London with a Masters of Law. Whilst at University, she competed in various mooting competitions including the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot 2015. Alex Gordon currently works at Swiss Reinsurance Management Ltd. in Zurich, Switzerland, where he handles internal investigations globally across Swiss Re's offices. Anastasios Gourgourinis is Lecturer in Public International Law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens Faculty of Law, a Research Fellow at the Academy of Athens and a practising advocate with the Athens Bar in Greece, advising on issues related to international economic law and international arbitration. Mr Simon Greenberg
Simon is a Partner with Clifford Chance's international arbitration group in Paris, representing clients in international arbitrations and acting as arbitrator. His experience covers all major arbitral institutions and a range of dispute types, notably including mining & metals, technology/telecommunications, construction, corruption and compliance, and aviation.
Before joining Clifford Chance in early 2012, he spent four years as Deputy Secretary General of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, having previously practiced with leading international arbitration firms in Paris and Australia. Mr Michael Greenop
Michael is a Fellow of CI Arb and an associate in Quinn Emanuel’s London office. His practice focuses on international arbitration and public international law. He previously practiced as an employed barrister for Sir David AR Williams KNZM QC and two civil litigation barristers. He has appeared as counsel in New Zealand courts and in arbitrations. He has also assisted tribunals in international commercial arbitrations and investor-state arbitrations under various institutional rules.
Michael has conjoint Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Commerce degrees from the University of Auckland, where he was a contract law tutor and helped develop the trial advocacy course. He represented New Zealand at the world’s most prestigious competitions in mooting (Philip C Jessup International Law Moot) and mediation (ICC International Commercial Mediation Competition), ranking second place in both and receiving individual recognition as the world’s third best speaker in the former. He also competed at the 22nd Willem C Vis Moot, receiving an honourable mention for best individual speaker.

Ms Iva Grgić
Iva Grgić obtained her Master of Law degree from the University of Zagreb Faculty of Law in May 2013 and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2014.
Iva is currently an SJD student at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where she is writing a dissertation under the supervision and guidance of professor Ronald A. Brand. In her doctoral research, Iva focuses on the imbalance of powers inherent between farmer and buyer within contract farming and how that imbalance leads to unfair trading practices that harm the farmer, an economically weaker party. Iva’s dissertation aims to provide a future dispute resolution model that could help minimize the negative consequences of unfair trade practices and ensure commercial justice and contract enforcement for the farmers.

Vasilije Grgurević is an LL.M candidate at the Institute for Law and Finance at Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main, where he has been working for Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP as part of the Capital markets and Finance team. He graduated with honours at the Law Faculty of the University of Montenegro, specializing in Commercial Law and has more than 3 years of professional experience, mainly providing services regarding Finance and Banking law, Commercial law and Dispute Resolution. He has been involved in several national and international commercial arbitration cases.

Having attended previously in the Moot as a participant and an assistant coach, through the people I met and through the experiences I have had, I can say that it certainly made a strong impact in my life and also my future career. I became very interested in commercial law and especially in international commercial arbitration and this influenced me greatly in obtaining a LL.M. degree in international arbitration at the University of Bucharest. Now, in my profession as a lawyer, I handle my clients' situations in various matters, not only in commercial law, but also in other related fields, and find myself still applying many of the skills and knowledge acquired from the time I was last actively involved in this Moot as a participant. Mrs Grosshans has practiced in both Civil and Common Law jurisdictions. After seven years with a major Anglo-American law firm in its Dusseldorf and London offices, Ralf has been working with ADVANT Beiten as a partner since January 2011. He is the current Head of Dispute Resolution there. Prof Thomas Halket
A Chartered Arbitrator, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Fellow of the College of Commercial Arbitrators and a member of arbitral panels around the world, Thomas Halket has been an arbitrator for over 30 years. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Fordham Law School where he teaches courses on International Arbitration and IP transactions. Peter A. Halprin is a partner in Pasich LLP’s New York office. Mr Mino Han
I work in the International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution team of Bae, Kim & Lee LLC. My main focus lies in overseas construction and energy disputes. Ms Fiona Heald
Fiona Heald is a lawyer in Toronto, Canada. Fiona Hickman (as she then was) served on the Osgoode Hall Vis team in 2003 and 2004; she helped with coaching in 2005.
Since 2014, Fiona has been an arbitration secretary for international arbitrations under various rules, including LCIA, ICDR, ICC, and UNCITRAL. She has experience with both institutional and ad hoc arbitrations.
Fiona worked at two of Canada's leading law firms, and then two banks. Campbell is a senior associate based in the London office of McDermott Will & Emery where he practices international arbitration and public international law. He holds an LLB (Hons (First)) and a BCom from Victoria University of Wellington, an LLM (Hons (First)) from the University of Auckland, and is a PhD candidate at the Grotius Centre at Leiden University where his research focuses on the interface between investor-state dispute settlement and sovereignty. Mr James Hosking
James Hosking has over 25 years of international dispute resolution experience. Immediately prior to co-founding New York dispute resolution boutique Chaffetz Lindsey, he was a partner in Clifford Chance’s New York office. James is a recognized expert in international arbitration, having handled more than 100 disputes as counsel, and involving the rules of all the leading institutions, as well as the UNCITRAL Rules. His recent cases have involved energy/power projects, corporate acquisitions, construction/engineering, mining, licensing, JV/shareholder disputes, mining, and investment treaty claims. Adrian Hughes QC practises construction and commercial law from 39 Essex Street chambers in London, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. His core practice involves construction and engineering cases and major energy and infrastructure projects but he also handles a wide variety of international and domestic commercial work including shipping, trade, insurance and financial services.
Much of his work has an international element and involves advising and representing foreign clients. He has a longstanding connection with China and other parts of Asia and frequently undertakes international arbitration and dispute resolution work for foreign parties in London and all the major international centres.

David’s practice focuses on international arbitration, with a particular emphasis on investor-state disputes. He is a go-to lawyer for clients with complex international disputes.
David has particular expertise in the Russia/CIS region and has acted against multiple states in the region in relation to claims arising out of the banking, construction, mining and telecommunications industries. Mr Lukas F. Innerebner
Lukas Innerebner has worked for several years in dispute resolution and transactions teams of law firms in Zurich (Baker McKenzie) and Rome (Legance), advising clients in international arbitration and court proceedings as well as cross-boarder M&A transactions and corporate reorganizations.
In 2018, Lukas completed the Geneva LL.M. in International Dispute Settlement with a thesis supervised by Prof Kaufmann-Kohler. Tim Isler is a Swiss qualified lawyer and works as an Associate for rothorn legal in their Zurich offices. She obtained her first master’s degree at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic, and her LL.M. from the Stockholm University’s International Commercial Arbitration Law Program. She is also a Ph.D candidate at Charles University in Prague. Nicole participated in the 20th Willem C. Vis Moot and 2014 FDI Moot.

Dr Ole Jensen
Ole Jensen is a senior associate in the International Arbitration Group of Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP in London and Berlin. He acts as counsel and tribunal secretary in domestic and international arbitration proceedings under various institutional and ad hoc rules. He is the author of 'Tribunal Secretaries in International Arbitration' (OUP 2019) and an Assistant Editor for the Journal of International Arbitration. Previously, he was a research and teaching assistant at Professor Klaus Peter Berger's chair for private law, international commercial law, conflicts of law, comparative law and banking law at the University of Cologne. He is also a former Vis Moot participant and coach for the Universities of Munich and Cologne.
Ms Myriam Jerdak
I studied law at the University of Saint Joseph and at the University of Paris I, Panthéon-Sorbonne. I graduated with Master I in corporate law at the Saint-Joseph University of Beirut and I am currently pursuing a postgraduate bachelor at the University of Geneva. I have participated in many Vis Moot competitions as well as Pre-Moots and I am passionate about international arbitration.
Dr Nevena Jevremovic
Nevena is Lecturer in Commercial Law at the University of Aberdeen School of Law. Her research and teaching focus on the interplay between sustainable development in commercial relationships, investment, and dispute resolution. Nevena is the author of the national monographs on Civil Procedure and Energy Law in volumes of the International Encyclopaedia of Laws. She published a dozen articles and book chapters on international dispute resolution and international commercial law. She is working on several publications on sustainable development goals in investment disputes, climate litigation, and global value chains.
Nevena is a Guest Lecturer at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and was a guest lecturer at the Prince Sultan University, College of Law, Female Campus (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia), Faculty of Law at the University of Zenica (Bosnia and Herzegovina), International Sarajevo University (IUS), and University of Verona & CILE's Summer School, teaching courses on sales law, contract and commercial management, technology and law, and international commercial arbitration.
Nevena completed her PhD with a dissertation on "Art. 35 (1) and 35(2)(a) & (b) of the UN Convention on the International Contracts for the Sale of Goods in the context of Sustainable Development Goal 12: Sustainable Consumption and Production Patterns." She holds an LL.M. in International Law from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law (2016) and an LL.M. in Civil Law in the EU from the University of Sarajevo School of Law (2015).
Mr Vishwam Jindal
Currently working as a Legal Advisor at Linklaters in London. In the past, I have worked at Pjindal Law Offices (India) on important cases before the Supreme court of India and the High court in Chandigarh. I have worked on three international arbitrations (two seated in London (LCIA) and one in Delhi (UNCITRAL)) and four arbitration disputes that reached courts. I specialised in international arbitration and mediation at university. I have participated in 4th Lawasia international moot, 2nd Shanghai arbitration moot, 9th Vis (East) and 10th DM Harish International moot court competitions as an oralist. I have been associated with the Vis moot as an arbitrator since 2012. My research papers have been published in books, e-books, journals, magazines and compendiums. I am a member of LCIA YIAG, ICC YAF, Young ICCA, AFIA and leading international mediation institutions. I edit the Journal of NLU Delhi and India Law Journal.
Mr Thomas John
Thomas is an independent international mediator, and arbitrator and legal consultant. He is also the Director of the IBA-VIAC CDRC Vienna, the world's most prestigious mediation moot competition, which uses the Willem C Vis Moot Problem for its mediations. Tom has 20 years of experience in assisting parties, counsels, states, and international organisations with (online-) resolving their international commercial, corporate, investment, construction, shipping, sports, employment, and inter-state disputes. Thomas won the Vis Moot in 2000 (U of Queensland) and has marked memoranda and served as Vis arbitrator on several occasions.
Mr J. Brian Johns
I am an attorney licensed in the United States of America. Before my current position as a judicial clerk for the United States Federal Courts, I was a Director for the International Centre for Dispute Resolution. In 2013, I earned an LL.M. in International Legal Studies, with specializations in International Arbitration, International Business Law and International Organizations. I have been involved with the Vis Moot as a participant, coach, and practice moot organizer since 2012.
Mr Shivansh Jolly
I am currently pursuing the Masters in International Dispute Settlement (MIDS) LL.M. at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva (2020-2021). I graduated from Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar in 2017, and was enrolled to the Bar Council of Delhi in the same year. I worked as an Associate at Kachwaha & Partners, New Delhi - a boutique GAR 100 firm specialising in dispute resolution - for a period of three years (2017-2020). As a mooting enthusiast, I am a former participant of the 2013 edition of the Vis Moot held in Vienna, and have since had the honour to arbitrate in the last three editions of the moot. I also participated in the ELSA Moot Court Competition on WTO Law, qualifying to the World Rounds held in Geneva, 2015 and thereafter coached teams from my university for the said Moot. My areas of interest include international commercial and investment arbitration, international trade law, and public international law.
Mr David Joseph
David Joseph QC is a barrister in Essex Court Chambers in London. He has for many years specialised as counsel in international arbitration and related matters, appearing in a number of the leading cases in the area in the courts of England, Singapore and Hong Kong.. He also sits as arbitrator and lectures in the field . He is the author of Jurisdiction and Arbitration Agreements and their Enforcement now in its 3rd Edition, and is joint editor and contributor to Singapore International Arbitration Law and Practice (2nd Ed). Incidentally, he has an enduring passion for Viennese music and food.
Mr Shubham Joshi
Shubham Joshi is an Indian qualified lawyer currently pursuing his Masters in Law and Business (MLB) from Bucerius Law School, Hamburg, Germany. An alumnus of the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, India, Shubham has acted as a counsel, assisting counsel, court commissioner, and tribunal secretary in various commercial disputes before the arbitration tribunals, state courts, and quasi-judicial tribunals in India. He has represented and advised clients in infrastructure, energy, finance, education, healthcare, and hospitality sectors. He is also a Visiting Faculty at several law universities in India primarily teaching Commercial Contracts, Corporate Law, Moot Court Advocacy and Legal Methods. Shubham has been a keen participant as a coach and arbitrator in Vis Vienna, Vis East, FDI, Alfred Deakin ICA, NLSTIAM, NLIU Tankha, and various other moots.
Ms Nicola Joubert
I participated in the Moot in 2002 and 2003 whilst studying at Stellenbosch University. After studying law I worked for the European Parliament and then move into the world of media, managing commercial and editorial teams of across multiple counties.
I have worked in London, Dubai, Brussels, Cape Town and am now settled in Amsterdam. I own a multinational media company which has offices in Amsterdam and London.
Mrs Emna Jouida
I am a Risk Analyst at a reputable Financial Institution working mainly in the fintech industry. I graduated in summer 2020, with a master's degree in International Business Law (with the main focus on the impact of climate change on nowadays business) from the Vrije Universiteit of Amsterdam. I always had a keen interest in commercial law, investment law, and arbitration. For my first master thesis, I worked on the "Arbitration Clause in the Contract of Carriage of Good by Sea" while my second master thesis was about "Environmental Consideration in the International Investment Arbitration". I participated in the 27th Willem C Vis. International Commercial Arbitration Moot, and I am currently mentoring the VU team for the 28th edition.
Ms Malgorzata Judkiewicz
I am a lawyer with the Polish and Peruvian bar. I graduated from law school in Poland (University of Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski) and I went to Geneva to study the LL.M. in International Dispute Settlement (MIDS 2014/2015). Afterwards I took a 6 month traineeship in LALIVE in Geneva, and then I joined K&L Gates office in Warsaw where I stayed for 2.5 years. Since April 2018 I have been living and working in Lima. I have experience in commercial and investment arbitration proceedings, working as a party representative or an arbitrator's assistant, and I have given classes on arbitration in different Peruvian universities. I am also an ex mootie (I participated in the 21st Vis Moot and FDI Moot 2013).
Mr Kasper Juul Hemmingsen
I participated in the 22nd Vis moot on behalf of the University of Southern Denmark. Since then I've for the past 4 years participated as arbitrator in the Hannover Pre-moot. In 2017 I I graduated with my master thesis on the topic "Agreement in writing" under the New York Convention and the UNCITRAL Model law with and without amendments.
