I also enjoy learning - not only because of the short (or shortening) half-life of knowledge, but also because it's quite a joy to have one's prior worldview challenged every now and then and to be able to form connections across disciplines. Understanding the quirks, risks, incentives, and interests of each player in each of the industries I have worked on has been illuminating, and the process of sense-making when presented with a new industry is thrilling.
