Ms Maren Berenice Ungemach
Maren was a member of the 26th Willem C. Vis Moot Court Team of the University of Bayreuth, Germany and is currently on the board of the Bayreuth Moot Court Association. After her participation she worked as a student researcher for the Chair of Prof. Dr. Schmidt-Kessel where she a.o. contributed to research projects concerning the CISG and gave support to the following Vis Moot Teams. After completing her Bachelors in Law and Economics at the University of Bayreuth, she continued her studies at Utrecht University where she completed her Master in Law and Economics and had the chance to participate in the HSF Competition Law Moot Court. Since her participation in the Vis Moot she has been interested in the field of arbitration and especially the economic side of disputes. Currently she works in Legal department of a company in the financial service sector.
Mr Keeghan Urmann
Originally coming from South Africa, I completed my LLB and Bcom Law degree from the University of Pretoria. I have coached the Vis moot for the last two years and was a participant in the 28th Vis Moot. During my time as a participant I placed in the top 32 and during the 29th Vis Moot I was the head coach for the team that came 3rd overall. I am also apart of the Africa in the Moot organization that promotes the development of intenrational arbitration in Africa and fosters African teams participation in the competition. I have also competed/coached a number of other moot competitions and have judged the Vis Pre-moots in Nairobi and London. I am also a member of the Moot Alumni Associations international liaisons team. Presently, I am a LLM candidate enrolled at Stockholm Universities in their International Commercial Arbitration programme.
Mr Alexandre Vagenheim
Alexandre Vagenheim is VP of Global Legal Data at Jus Mundi where he leads the company’s data strategy and global relations.
Alexandre is a French qualified international arbitration lawyer. Prior to joining Jus Mundi, Alexandre has represented clients in a wide range of matters involving international commercial arbitration, international investment disputes and French court litigation at the former arbitration practice of Castaldi Mourre & Partners in Paris. In addition to his experience as counsel, Alexandre has acted as secretary to arbitral tribunals in international arbitrations as research assistant to the late Prof. Martin Hunter at Essex Court Chambers, London.
Alexandre was appointed lecturer in international commercial arbitration, investment arbitration and private international law within the LL M program of King's College and at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and is the author of numerous publications in the field of international business law and arbitration law.
Mr Vytautas Vaicekauskas
Vytautas is a PhD Candidate (International Civil Procedure) at Vilnius University and an Associate at MOTIEKA. His legal research and practice are primarily focused on cross-border litigation and arbitration.
Vytautas is a graduate of Vilnius University (magna cum laude). During his studies, Vytautas spent an exchange semester at the University of Zurich and participated in the Paris Arbitration Academy. Alongside that, he has been a mootie, including the 30th Vis Moot. This year, Vytautas is coaching Vilnius University Team for the 31st Vis Moot.
Vytautas is an active member of the arbitration community. He is a former Young ITA Mentorship Program mentee. Currently, Vytautas is a mentee in the Young ICCA Mentoring Programme. For the past two years, Vytautas has been volunteering for the organization of Vilnius Arbitration Day. Recently, he has published an article about impecuniosity in international arbitration in the annual journal ‘Arbitration. Law and Practice’.
Mr Juan Pablo Valdivia Pizarro
Juan Pablo Valdivia Pizarro is a Professional Support Lawyer at the arbitration department of Linklaters LLP in Amsterdam, who specialises in international commercial and investment arbitration. He graduated with a degree in law from Pontificia Universidad Católica (Peru) in 2014, and in 2016 he graduated cum laude from the LL.M. in Arbitration and Business Law at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Juan Pablo joined NautaDutilh in 2016. Next to his work at NautaDutilh, he is an assistant lecturer in international arbitration at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Ms Giulia Valente Bagattini
Giulia is a Trainee Lawyer at SLCG, an Italian law firm with offices in Milan, Rome, Florence, and Paris. She is currently preparing for the Italian Bar Exam. Prior to joining SLCG, she interned at Linklaters and later worked at a Florence-based firm, where she focused on commercial and insolvency litigation. Now part of SLCG's International Arbitration Department, she advises clients on international commercial arbitration, specializing in energy and construction disputes.

Joost is a legal professional with a strong academic background and extensive international work experience. He is admitted to the Bar of Amsterdam.
His academic journey includes an LL.M in Corporate Law from the University of Leiden, an LL.M in International Law from the University of Sydney, and a Bachelor of Law (LL.B) from the University of Amsterdam.
Joost gained valuable experience through a traineeship in International Arbitration at Shearman & Sterling in Paris, France. Dr Paolo Vargiu is Associate Professor of International Law at the University of Leicester. He has a variety of research interest, focussing primarily on international investment law and arbitration, international commercial arbitration, jurisprudence, literature, and human rights. Ms Mariana Verdes
Mariana is a barrister practicing in civil litigation at the Irish Bar specialising is commercial, ADR, and medical negligence work. I graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb in 2017, and passed the Croatian bar exam in 2019 with distinction. Ms Gretta Walters
Gretta Walters is Counsel at Chaffetz Lindsey LLP in New York. She represents a diverse range of domestic and international clients in commercial and investment disputes in arbitration and state and federal courts. Gretta also has experience as Legal Counsel at the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce and a Visiting Lecturer at Stockholm University. Ms Anne Wang
Anne Wang is an Australian qualified lawyer and is studying the Bachelor of Civil Law at the University of Oxford in 2023-24. She worked as a Deputy Counsel at the Secretariat of the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Hong Kong. She has also practised as a solicitor in Sydney and has acted as tribunal secretary in international commercial and investor-state arbitrations. Mr Yifan (Wilson) Wang
Wilson Wang is a litigation associate in Hughes Hubbard’s New York office. Wilson focuses on representing clients in transnational and complex commercial disputes, including litigations before the U.S. federal and state courts and international arbitrations administered under AAA, HKIAC, and CIETAC rules. He is also experienced in assisting clients with internal investigations worldwide and in response to regulatory enquiries from U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and Department of Justice. Mr Rob Warzel
Rob Warzel is a Canadian-born lawyer in Phoenix, USA with Spencer Fane, LLP. Rob is licensed to practice in Arizona, California, Colorado, and Washington state. He participated in the 24th Vis Moot, and was a Quarter-Finalist at the 15th Vis East Moot, where he received an Honourable Mention for Best Oralist. He is Co-Chair of the Moot Alumni Association's Regional Representative team, an assistant coach for the Arizona State University Vis team, and focuses his practice on complex commercial disputes and employment matters. Rob considers himself very fortunate to hold passports from Canada, the United States, and Poland.
Mr Muhammad Yar Wattoo
I passed my Law Graduation in 2010 from the Punjab University, Lahore (Pakistan). I enrolled with Bar Council as an Advocate in 2011. I practiced law as an Advocate until I was selected as Public Prosecutor on 09-03-2015. I continued to play my role to prosecute criminals on the behalf of the state until my selection as Civil Judge on 01-09-2015. I had been adjudicating the criminal, civil, family , rent, guardian and commercial cases until 16-09-2023, the day of vacating the office of Judge for one year to pursue my Masters in Law from the University of East Anglia.

Lukas is an associate with TORGGLER Rechtsanwälte. He focuses on Dispute Resolution, Corporate and Business Law. Prior to working with TORGGLER Lukas gained experience in the International Arbitration Practice Group of a leading London-based law firm.
Mr Lukas Weichert
Lukas Weichert has been working as a research assistant at the Chair of Civil Law, Private International Law and Comparative Law at the University of Passau, Germany, since August 2023. As part of this, he is supervising this year's Vis Moot Team. In July 2023, he completed his law studies at the University of Passau.
Before studying law, he completed a bachelor's degree in political science at Freie Universität Berlin. Even there, he was particularly interested in the increasing internationalization of business and trade. Lukas himself participated in the 29th Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot and continued to study the CISG and international commercial arbitration as part of his focus on international private and commercial law. His doctoral thesis deals with the law of restitution in England and Germany.
Mr Marcus Weiler
Marcus Weiler is a Counsel in the Dispute Resolution team at CMS Germany and specializes in national and international arbitration and complex court proceedings, with particular expertise in post-M&A and shareholder disputes and disputes in the technology sector. He has successfully represented clients from the automotive, energy, infrastructure, life sciences sector in a wide range of disputes.
Hon Prof Dr Irene Welser
Irene Welser is the Senior Partner of the Viennese law firm CERHA HEMPEL where she heads the Contentious Business Department. Irene is a passionate arbitrator and counsel in big arbitrations and always plans her strategy well in advance. She is a great team leader and team player. Irene has a strong academic background and, in 2003, became the youngest honorary professor ever of Vienna University. Dr Elizabeth Whitsitt
Elizabeth Whitsitt is an associate professor at the University of Calgary, Faculty of Law. She is co-recipient and collaborator on a number of research projects on various aspects of international economic law and dispute settlement. Katharina participated in the 26th Vis Moot in 2018/2019 for the University of Bonn and coached the university’s team during the 29th and 30th Vis Moot. After having obtained her German law degree in Bonn, she is currently pursuing her LL.M. degree in European Law at the College of Europe in Bruges.
Dr Piotr Wilinski
Piotr specialises in international arbitration. He works as a Professional Support Lawyer in Houthoff's Litigation & Arbitration practice group, where he is involved in arbitration proceedings under various arbitration rules, including UNCITRAL and ICC Rules. Piotr conducts research on complex legal issues and analyses developments relevant to his practice group. He contributes to Houthoff's internal courses and academic publications.
Besides working at Houthoff, Piotr is an Assistant Professor at the Erasmus University, Rotterdam, where he teaches on international commercial arbitration as well as investment arbitration. His research focuses on powers of the arbitral tribunals. Piotr acts as an Academic Coordinator of International Arbitration and Business Law variation of Commercial Law LLM and he coaches Erasmus University's team for the Willem C. Dr Reinmar Wolff
Dr. Reinmar Wolff is a lawyer and Assistant Professor at the University of Marburg where he also heads the Vis Moot Court team. Dr. Wolff regularly acts as arbitrator in commercial arbitrations under various rules. He regularly lectures and publishes on arbitration and other topics. Dr. Wolff is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).
Dr Venus Valentina Wong
Venus Valentina Wong is partner and attorney at-law with Wolf Theiss, Vienna, Austria. Having studied law and sinology in Vienna, Amsterdam and Taipei and being fluent in German, English, and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), Valentina has practised international arbitration for almost 20 years. Ms Caroline Yersin
Caroline Yersin studied law at the University of Passau and in Michigan, US. With the team of the University of Passau she reached the quarterfinals in the 25th Vis Moot and coached the team in the 26th Vis Moot. She is working as lawyer and research assistant at an international law firm in Munich.
Ms Begüm Yılmaz
Begüm Yılmaz is currently working as a junior associate at Kılınç Law & Consulting in Turkey. Begüm has graduated from MEF University (30% English). Begüm has represented MEF University as a team member and an oralist for the 27th Vis Moot. Later she has acted as a jr coach for MEF University's team for the 28th Vis Moot. Since then she has been acting as an arbitrator for pre-moot competitions. Begüm was a mentee for MAA mentor-mentee programme and she has been acting as a team member for the MAA's mentor-mentee programme since 2022.
Mr Timo Ylikantola
Timo specializes in domestic and international dispute resolution, contract, construction, corporate and employment law matters as well as insolvency procedures.
Timo has advised and represented clients in institutional and ad hoc arbitration proceedings and before all the instances of the Finnish state courts in many complex disputes.
Timo has experience in arbitrating disputes under institutional arbitration rules such as the Rules of the Arbitration Institute of the Finland Chamber of Commerce, Arbitration Rules of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce and the ICC Arbitration Rules and ad hoc arbitration under the Finnish Arbitration Act as well as enforcement procedures of the arbitral awards. Ms Agnieszka Zarowna
Agnieszka is an Associate in Hogan Lovells' International Arbitration Group in London, where she focuses her work on investment arbitration. Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Agnieszka was an associate in a Warsaw-based law firm, representing clients in both international and domestic arbitrations, and serving as secretary to arbitral tribunals.
Agnieszka obtained her law degrees from the University of Warsaw, University of Poitiers and Harvard Law School. She is admitted to the New York bar and has completed her bar training in Poland.
While preparing her Ph.D. in public international law, she has been awarded scholarships and participated in various arbitration and public international law programs, including in The Hague, Paris, Düsseldorf and Milan. She has been successfully instructing student teams for the Willem C. Vis and FDI moot courts and she often serves as an arbitrator at these and various other competitions.

Jonas Zaugg is a former Moot participant (25th) and has been the coach of the University of Lausanne since. Mr. Zaugg holds a Master in Law from the University of Lausanne, specialising in commercial law and legal theory. Mr. Zaugg is currently assistant to Professor Andrea Bonomi and PhD candidate at the University of Lausanne. Alongside his studies, Mr. Zaugg has worked in the field of health insurance claims against liable third parties for over five years. He is a native speaker of Swiss German, German and French, as well as a proficient English speaker.
Ms Sarah Zedlacher
Sarah has been working in the dispute resolution team at CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz GmbH since August 2022. She studied law at the University of Vienna from 2018 to 2022, during which time she participated in the 28th Vis Moot Court. As part of the Erasmus programme, Sarah completed a semester abroad at the University of Sheffield in the UK. During her studies, she worked as a legal assistant and summer intern at various renowned law firms in Vienna.

Dr Jeremy Zell
Dr Jeremy Zell holds a PhD from Stockholm University, an LLM in International Commercial Arbitration Law from Stockholm University, and a JD from the University of Minnesota. His primary research focuses on the concept of excess of mandate as a ground for setting aside arbitral awards, but he has published in diverse fields, including international space law. Dr Zell previously practiced international commercial arbitration law at Vinge in Stockholm.
Ms Eglė Zemlytė
Dr. Eglė Zemlytė is a lecturer at Private Law Department of the Law Faculty of Vilnius University. She teaches international commercial arbitration (in both Lithuanian and English) as well as law on civil procedure. Her research focuses on international arbitration, alternative dispute resolution and law on civil procedure. She is a co-author of the Commentary to the Law on Commercial Arbitration of the Republic of Lithuania and an author or co-author of various publications on arbitration and other dispute resolution methods. She has also been admitted to the bar of the Republic of Lithuania and has been practicing as the counsel in various arbitration and litigation cases for almost 15 years. She has represented Lithuanian and foreign companies in arbitration cases under various arbitration rules (SCC, ICC, LCIA, VCCA, UNCITRAL Rules) as well as in Lithuanian courts. Before joining a boutique law firm to focus on her career as an arbitrator she was an attorney-at-law at one of the biggest law firms in Lithuania. She regularly sits as arbitrator or chairs arbitrations under the rules of the Vilnius Court of Commercial Arbitration.
Mr Andrej Zerjal
Andrej Žerjal is a Lawyer at Race & Jarc Law Firm in Trieste (Italy), specializing in domestic and international contracts and litigation, with a particular emphasis on commercial matters. He graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Trieste and studied at the University of Vienna and Shanghai International Studies University as well. Besides, he acted also as a delegate at WIPO and at UNCITRAL.
During the 26th Willem C. Vis edition, he participated as a team member and oralist of the Trieste Team. Since then, he has been involved at the moot as a team coach and arbitrator.
Ms Puyi Zhao
ZHAO Puyi graduated from the University of Oxford (Balliol College) with a Magister Juris in Law and also holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Renmin University of China. She served as an arbitrator in the Vis Moot Fox Williams CIArb Pre-Moot and the Vis Moot CIETAC Cup Pre-Moot in 2023, and participated in the Vis Moot in both 2021 and 2022 as an oralist on behalf of Renmin University and Oxford University respectively. She has a keen interest in international arbitration and has worked at the LCIA as a casework intern.

Joanna Zielińska is an advocate (adwokat) admitted to practice in Poland. She focuses on commercial matters, private international law, and civil law, as well as court proceedings.

Ms Vanessa Zimmermann de Meireles
Vanessa specializes in international commercial arbitration, complex disputes, business and construction law.
Since 2016, Vanessa works as Foreign Associate at the dispute resolution boutique Borris Hennecke Kneisel in Cologne, Germany. She acts as arbitrator, counsel and secretary to arbitral tribunals in international arbitration proceedings conducted in English, Portuguese, Spanish and German. She has acted in both ad hoc and institutional proceedings held under the ICC and DIS arbitration rules. Mr Tobias Zuberbühler
Tobias Zuberbühler is an independent arbitrator and counsel with over 25 years of experience in dispute resolution. Mr Adly Zulfadhly Zulkefly
Adly graduated with a LLB (Hons) and Diploma in Syarie Legal Practice (DSLP) from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). He was called to the Malaysian Bar and admitted to the roll of Advocates and Solicitors in March 2020. During these times, he was involved with mainly litigation and arbitration work. Adly subsequently undertook his pupilage at Azmi & Associates where he was trained to handle complex files. Furthermore, he has also acted as counsel for banks and government bodies in relation to construction disputes and other commercial claims.
