During her studies at the University of Vienna, Barbara Abdalla already had the pleasure to work in the dispute resolution team of one of Austria's most renowned law firms until she started her journey as a law clerk at Vavrovsky Heine Marth Attorneys at Law ("VHM") in 2019. In the same year, Barbara obtained additional diplomas in mediation and dispute resolution as well as a diploma from the Austrian Arbitration Academy in international arbitration. These experiences allowed her to support VHM’s arbitration team in a post-M&A dispute of a group of international shareholders before the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC). Ms Janani Abeywickrema

Janani Abeywickrema is presently reading for her Attorney-at-Law in Sri Lanka while working under a justice of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka. She is also a Partner at the Moot Court Bench, an organization dedicated to delivering education of global standards to Sri Lankan law students. I am an American Lawyer, receiving a law degree from American University Washington College of Law. Prior to law school, I worked for the Florida Senate for two years. In college, I studied both Business and International Affairs at Florida State University. During law school, I was President of the International Trade & Investment Law Society as well as the European Law Association. I was also the Editor-in-Chief of The Arbitration Brief. Ms Ashwita Ambast

Mr José Luis Aragón Cardiel

Dr Caterina Benini

Dr Caterina Benini is a post-doctoral researcher in private international law at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan. In 2022 she defended her PhD dissertation on the law applicable to choice of court agreements under the Brussels I bis Regulation. During her PhD, she spent several months as visiting researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law of Hamburg and at the Library of the Peace Palace in the Hague. Since 2018, she has been assisting the Chair of private international law at the Catholic University of Milan. Since then, she is coaching the Catholic University of Milan students involved in the Willem C. Vis Moot and in the Pax Moot. She is a member of the European Association of Private International Law (EAPIL) and of the Italian Society of International and European Law (SIDI). She authored several publications in private international law and EU law. She is a member of the European Association of Private International Law (EAPIL) and of the Italian Society of International and European Law (SIDI).
Before joining academia, she worked in a Milan-based law firm specialized in international arbitration and cross-border litigation. In 2022, she passed the Italian bar exam, qualifying to practice as a lawyer in Italy.

Ms Tess Bens

Tess Bens is a Research Assistant at the Department of Civil Procedural Law at the University of Vienna. She holds an LL.B. in Dutch Law, an LL.B. in International and European Law, as well as an LL.M. (research) in Business and Law from Radboud University. During her studies at Radboud University, Tess participated in the 22nd Vis Moot and attended summer courses at National Taiwan University, Bucerius Law School and The Hague Academy for International Law. She also worked as a Student Trainee at NautaDutilh and as a Legal Assistant for the Arbitration Practice Group of De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, both in Amsterdam.

Tess worked as Lecturer in Private International Law at Radboud University (2018-2021) and Tilburg University (2022), as well as Research Fellow at the Department of European and Comparative Procedural Law at the Max Planck Institute Luxembourg (2022-2023), before joining the University of Vienna in October 2023. Ms Tamuna Beridze

Tamuna Beridze is Doctoral Candidate at the University of Vienna, European Union, International and Comparative Law Department. Her Doctoral thesis concerns the compatibility of EU’s
external policies in the Free Trade Agreements with the international commitments of the
Member States within the field of investment and trade law. Along with her Doctorate Ms.
Beridze works for Energy Community Secretariat Legal Unit in Vienna, Austria.

Prior to her PhD studies, Ms. Beridze worked as the Adviser at the Ministry of Justice of
Georgia, European Union Law Department. Her scope of work included implementing EU
Law in Georgian legal system under EU-Georgia Association Agreement. She was
responsible for attending various governmental meetings and conferences on the EU Law
matters at the national as well as international level and assisting and advising the Head of EU

Mrs Renata Berzanskiene

Professor Christopher Bisping

Christopher is Professor of comparative private law and Dean of the Master of Law and Business program at Bucerius Law School Hamburg. Prior to that he was Associate Professor at Warwick Law School, lecturer at University Leicester, and DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) Lektor in German Law at Warwick (all UK). Ms Cătălina Bîzîc

Catalina is an international arbitration lawyer, a member of the New York bar, with both civil law and common law background. Catalina serves as the Co-Chair of Young Romanian Arbitration Practitioners (YRAP) for 2023-2025. Mrs Mileslava Bogdanovа

Mileslava Bogdanova-Misheva graduated with honors a Master of Laws at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. She is currently working as an associate at a law firm in Sofia, Bulgaria. She is a member of the Sofia Bar Association since 2016 and works as an associate at a Bulgarian law firm.
She is one of the pioneers who established the presence of the Willem C. Vis Commercial Arbitration Moot in Bulgaria. Mileslava was a team member of the Sofia University team consequently in the 19th and 20th edition of the competition and has been co-coaching the team since 2013. In 2015 the team from Sofia University was among those awarded "honorable mention" for Memorandum for Respondent and in 2016 the team was awarded for its Memorandum for Claimant.

Mr Julian Bordaçahar

Mr. Julian Bordaçahar works as Legal Counsel at the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) at The Hague and is the PCA Representative in the Argentine Republic, where he Heads the PCA Buenos Aires Office. Before joining the PCA, he worked in the International Arbitration Team of LALIVE in Geneva while he was completing his LL.M. Studies at the Geneva Masters in International Dispute Settlement (MIDS), where he graduated summa cum laude. He initially trained as a French lawyer (1977 – 1981). He holds titles from the Universities of Paris (Licencé en Droit 1980, Maître en Droit 1981).
He studied in the United States at Harvard University (LL.M. 1983) and took the New York Bar Exam (1983/84). Until today, he is a member of the New York Bar.
After a year in an international law firm in Washington D.C. (concentrating on a large international oil dispute against the state of Iran), Eckart registered as an U.S. attorney in Germany while he studied at Hamburg University (1984 – 1987).
Following the first state exam, he first clerked at the Court of Appeal in Hamburg for two and a half years and then practiced international business law in a major law firm until he was offered partnership.

Ms Valeria Butyrina

Valeria Butyrina is a legal counsel at the Russian Arbitration Center at the Russian Institute of Modern Arbitration (RAC). Valeria holds a Master’s degree in International Trade, Finance and Economic Integration Law from the Higher School of Economics (Moscow). Valeria used to administer arbitral proceedings and has acted as a tribunal assistant in plenty of arbitrations under the Arbitration Rules of the RAC. Since 2020 Valeria mostly focuses on research activities within the RAC, she took part in elaboration of different sets of Arbitration Rules of the RAC and frequently acts as independent expert on different issues of arbitration procedure. My name is Marcelo Campello and I am a Brazilian Lawyer. I have a law degree from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro after my graduation in April, 2022, and, since then, I have been working as an associate in the dispute resolution practice (litigation and arbitration) at Mattos Filho.

I have been involved in the Vis Moot since 2019. I participated as an oralist in the 26th and 27th Vis Moots. Joshua also helped establish a mooting program at a grammar school in Melbourne, which involved coaching a team to the semi-finals of a national competition and co-ordinating a friendly inter-school competition. Joshua is currently living in the United Kingdom.

Erin is an attorney (akin to a solicitor) with over 9 years of diverse litigation experience in large law firms in South Africa and the Netherlands, and she is an accredited mediator for the United Kingdom and Southern Africa. Erin is currently a Senior Associate at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek (Amsterdam), practicing in the field of international arbitration. Erin specialises in international dispute resolution, including international arbitration, cross-border litigation and mediation. Ms Shu Cruikshank

Shu Cruikshank has been a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) London since March 2019. Shu is dual-qualified both in law and construction engineering with professional qualifications. She has had extensive construction and infrastructure projects experience in the UK, Canada, Singapore and China. Her practice areas are in contentious construction claims and ADR especially in international commercial arbitration. She has sat on arbitrator panel for the Fox Williams Vis Pre-Moots.

Shu holds a Master degree in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution from King’s College London as well as a MSc in Environmental Engineering from Imperial College London. She completed her legal qualification of a GDL and LPC from City University of London.

Dr Tímea Csajági

By way of introduction, I am Tímea Csajági, an attorney-at-law at Wolf Theiss Hungary and a PhD candidate at the Civil Procedural Law Department of ELTE Faculty of Law in Hungary.

After having received my degree, I was involved in the preparatory phases of the new Hungarian Civil Procedural Code and the new Hungarian Act on Arbitration as a legal expert of the Ministry of Justice.

Thereafter, I have worked at different international law firms and I currently work as an attorney-at-law in the Litigation, Dispute Resolution Department of Wolf Theiss Hungary. My work currently focuses almost exclusively on arbitration, by representing our clients in international and domestic arbitral proceedings both in institutional arbitration as well as in ad hoc proceedings.

As a PhD student, I am entrusted with holding a seminar on non-contentious proceedings and a seminar on civil procedural law (including arbitration). I was the prep teacher for the Mathias Corvinus Collegium Team at the 29. Annual Willem C. Vis International Arbitration Moot.

Ms Sara Darnot

In 2019, after graduating from the ELTE Faculty of Law, I started working at Lakatos, Köves and Partners as a trainee lawyer in the dispute resolution group. I had the opportunity the see arbitration in practice and learn from one of the best professionals, who, however, have also set a goal to reach. Now, four-and-a-half years later, I am still here, after successfully taking the bar exams and being a qualified lawyer and member of the Hungarian Bar Association. I am also a member of ArbitralWomen, ArbCEE and the Hungarian Arbitration Association.

Parallelly, I started a PhD in the ELTE Doctoral School and worked half-time at the Department of Civil Procedure, I also finished a German LL.M in Göttingen (thesis on a commercial arbitration topic in the German language), attended a commercial arbitration-focused course in Frankfurt organized by the University of Frankfurt together with the Frankfurt Arbitration Circle, and finally I was a member of the ADR group of the Maurer School of Law (University of Bloomington) during the 5 months that I spent there as a visiting scholar.

I attended VisMoot as an arbitrator in 2023. My interest in arbitration is clearly established, and this event is a great opportunity to try and deepen the knowledge gained during the past few years in the field of arbitration.

Mr Jack Davies

Jack Davies is an Associate at the London office of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP. He is a New Zealand-qualified barrister and solicitor specializing in commercial and investment-treaty arbitration, and cross-border litigation (particularly between the US and UK). He has advised major multinational corporations and financial institutions in commercial and investment matters under the ICC, LCIA and ICSID Rules, as well as in ad hoc arbitrations. Prior to joining Willkie, Jack was an Associate in the London office of Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP.

Jack holds BA and LLB (Hons) degrees from the University of Auckland (where he graduated second in his year group) and holds an LLM from New York University, which he attended as a Fulbright Scholar and from which he graduated top of the arbitration specialization.

Before taking his LLM, Jack served as clerk to the now Chief Justice of New Zealand, Dame Helen Winkelmann, and one of New Zealand’s pre-eminent arbitrators, Sir David AR Williams QC. Mr Peter R. Day

Peter R. Day is an independent arbitrator and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

He retired from the Boeing legal depart ment after 25 years, including nine years as Chief Counsel for Boeing Computer Services. He began his legal career as a U. S. Marine Corps trial lawyer and court-martial judge, and then as a civilian prosecutor in San Mateo County, California.

He has taught international commercial arbitration at the University of Washington Law School and has taught at the MBA and undergraduate level at the Seattle University Business School. He also teaches trial practice for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy and has organized workshops on cross-examination in international arbitration in Beijing, Shanghai and Vienna.

Ms. De Souza is currently a doctoral candidate in the field of international investment law . During her studies, she has participated in several oral advocacy programs, for example the annual EuroSim debate, and the International Criminal Law Summer School at Leiden University. Mr Ali Dehdashti

Ali Dehdashti is a legal professional with extensive expertise in international arbitration and financial law. He is a dual qualified lawyer and has been practicing as an attorney at law in the Iranian jurisdiction for several years, as well as being a solicitor in England and Wales. Ali has been a Senior Associate in the Swiss law firm Python since 2016, where he has had the privilege to work on international financial and commercial disputes. His legal practice has encompassed diverse areas, including commercial and civil law, international arbitration, and litigation. Mr Borna Dejanovic

Borna Dejanović is a senior associate at the law firm Wolf Theiss and a member of the dispute resolution team in Zagreb. He joined Wolf Theiss as an associate in 2016 after graduating from the University of Zagreb Law School and has since been enthusiastically advising a broad spectrum of international clients. Borna specialises in arbitration and dispute resolution. Professor Toni Deskoski Ph.D. graduated at the Faculty of Law, University “Ss Cyril and Methodius” in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia in 1994 as one of the best students in generation. He completed his postgraduate studies in the field of Civil Law – Private International Law in 1999 at Faculty of Law, University “Ss Cyril and Methodius” in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia. Mr Shashi K. Dholandas

Shashi K. Dholandas is a litigation and arbitration practitioner with the firm of Bailey Duquette P.C. where he provides counsel to clients in both international and domestic matters. Shashi is experienced in all aspects of commercial dispute resolution, including acting as counsel in international and domestic arbitrations under the rules of the AAA, ICDR, ICC and JAMS.

I am a lawyer based in Latvia with 10 years of experience in national and international commercial dispute resolution as a law firm attorney, as well as an inhouse general counsel. I have represented clients in commercial litigations before the Latvian courts, as well as handled various cases from inhouse side in Latvia, United States, UK and other jurisdictions. Mr Martin Doe

Martin Doe serves as Deputy Secretary-General at the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) in The Hague, an intergovernmental organization which administers arbitrations and other dispute resolution proceedings involving various combinations of States, State entities, intergovernmental organizations, and private parties.

He has worked closely with arbitral tribunals in some of the largest and most complex inter-State, investor-State, and commercial cases administered by the PCA spanning the full breadth of public and private international law as well as the full range of commercial industry sectors. Mrs Klára Drličková

Klára Drličková currently holds the position of an associate professor at the Department of International and European Law, Faculty of Law, Masaryk University. She teaches courses in Private International Law, International Commercial Arbitration and International Business Transactions. Morten Dybro is employed as an Attorney, Director at the Danish branch of the global law firm DLA Piper. Dr Björn P. Ebert

Björn P. Ebert is an Associated Partner with Gleiss Lutz in Stuttgart, Germany, and specializes in international arbitration, including enforcement and setting aside proceedings. Dr Can Eken

Dr Eken currently serves as an assistant professor at Durham Law School and independent arbitration consultant. He is admitted to practice law as an attorney in California, Turkiye, and as a solicitor in England and Wales. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He was a visiting scholar at Stanford University and the Max Planck Institute in Luxembourg for Procedural Law. Petrit studied law at the University of Prishtina and the Free University of Berlin (LL.B.). Mr Francisco Esparraga

Francisco migrated to Australia from Sevilla, Spain as a young child and is still fluent in the Spanish language. He undertook his undergraduate degrees at the University of New South Wales and his postgraduate studies at the University of Sydney.
In his early legal career, he worked at the Privacy Committee within the Attorney-General’s Department of NSW; SBS Television and the Department of Territories and Local Government in Canberra. On returning to Sydney, he spent many years in the Department of Veterans’ Affairs and several years at the Independent Commission Against Corruption.
In more recent years, he has worked in private practice; been a part-time Member of the Consumer Trader Tenancy Tribunal; lectured at all of the Law Schools in Sydney, as well as working for the Legal Practitioners’ Admission Board and the College of Law. He is a Foundation Member of the Australian Institute of Administrative Law since 1989.
In 2010, Francisco was appointed as the Australian Representative to the Board of the International Client Consultation Competition. He is a judge in this competition, as well as the VIS International Commercial Arbitration Moot and Australian Law Students’ Association Competitions. He is a Member and Treasurer of the Mediation Committee and the Academic and Professional Development Committee of the International Bar Association.

Mr José Angelo Estrella Faria

Principal Legal Officer and Head, Legislative Branch, at the secretariat of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL).

He was the Secretary-General of the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT) between 1 October 2008 to 31 July 2017.

A staff member of the United Nations since 1992, he was responsible for UNCITRAL work on privately financed infrastructure projects and electronic commerce. He also supervised the work of Working Group III (Transport Law) between 2005 and 2008. He currently supervises all legislative work of UNCITRAL.

Mr. Estrella Faria is a national of Brazil. He graduated from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (Porto Alegre, Brazil) and holds a Master of European Law from the Europa Institut der Universität des Saarlandes (Saarbrücken, Germany). Mr Michael Evans

I have been practising at the Bar in Sydney since 1988, primarily in equity and trusts and probate matters. Prior to and during part of that time I taught at the University of Technology, Sydney where I set up and ran the mooting programme in the undergraduate course, so I come to the moot with a background in teaching advocacy. I first came to Vis in 2000 as a coach with the UTS team. I have been back most years since then, and to Hong Kong on several occasions. Since 2003 my involvement in Vis has been as an arbitrator and occasional mentor. My interests otherwise are history, especially combined with travel, and sport, particularly cricket and rugby.

Daria Evtushenko graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University with honours in 2020 (LLB) and completed an LL.M. degree at the National Research University Higher School of Economics majoring in private law. Now she works as an associate in the dispute resolution team of Voskhod Law Firm in Moscow dealing with arbitration and complex litigation disputes.
Daria participated in the 26th Vis Moot as part of Lomonosov MSU team, advancing to the semi-final and receiving honourable mention as individual oralist. From the 27th to 29th Vis Moot, Daria coached Lomonosov MSU Team and she now couaches the group of students from Russia for the 21st Vis East Moot. In the 27th and 28th Vis, the team received honourable mentions on both Claimant's and Respondent's memoranda.

Ms EFOSA OSARUEMEN EWERE

Efosa Osaruemen EWERE is a Partner in Gravida Attorneys, a Law Firm in Nigeria engaged primarily in Commercial Law Practice with a special bias for ADR as a tool for dispute resolution.
With over a decade of active legal practice, her passion for dispute resolution motivated her desire to use Litigation, Mediation, and Arbitration in achieving these goals.

The challenges faced in litigation with clients’ cry for speedy dispensation of Justice in Nigeria propelled her to see the need to explore the tenets of Arbitration.

In a quest to achieve this, She began her academic journey in Arbitration with The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK), Nigeria Branch, in 2011 as an Associate and later a Fellow. She has taken up the responsibilities upon appointment to act as Tribunal Secretary, Arbitrator, and Counsel in Arbitration Proceedings.
She is a member of several professional bodies as well as the CIArb Young Members Group Steering Committee Nigeria Branch, first as an executive member, then as the Chair of the Group; a position she held till the year 2022. She has a passion for good governance.

Mr Philip Exenberger

Philip Exenberger has been with DORDA's Dispute Resolution team since 2011 and was appointed as Counsel in 2022. He acts both as counsel and as an arbitrator.

He is a specialist in international commercial and investment arbitration and other cross-border disputes. His focus is on particularly complex proceedings, especially those with a strong technical focus such as construction disputes.

Philip Exenberger has many years of experience with extensive evidentiary proceedings where he is working with next generation legal tech solutions. He not only represents clients before arbitral tribunals (including under the VIAC, ICC and UNCRITRAL Arbitration Rules) and state courts, but also advises on claims management and conflict avoidance.

He is a member of Young Austrian Arbitration Practitioners (YAAP) and AIJA (Association Internationale des Jeunes Avocats) and regularly lectures and publishes articles on his areas of expertise in national and international publications.

Mr Mazin Ezzeldin

Mazin is an Egyptian qualified Lawyer who domiciles in Germany as a foreign Lawyer, he obtained his LL.B. from Cairo University, then earned his LL.M. from Saarland University in Germany. Mazin currently works at Amereller Rechtsanwälte PmbB in Berlin as a Legal Associate. He advises international companies and European investors on all aspects of business and commercial law in the MENA region, with a special focus on Egypt, he also engages in arbitration cases.

As a student, Mazin participated in different moot courts, and once as a coach.
