Vlera Parduzi is a Teaching Assistant at the Faculty of Law, University of Prishtina, where she leads legal clinics in Contract Law, Intellectual Property Law, and Trade Law. She holds an LL.M. in International and European Business Law from KU Leuven and has prior professional experience in regulatory and procurement matters, as well as operational management. She is actively involved in coaching the University of Prishtina’s Willem C. Vis Moot team and regularly engages with issues of international sales law and arbitration. Ms Bobin PARK

Bobin Park is a dually qualified attorney (New York/Korea) currently serving as Head of Legal at Samsung Heavy Industries Nigeria. Specializing in international arbitration within the offshore energy and EPC sectors, she recently managed a complex multi-jurisdictional settlement involving six consolidated LCIA arbitrations.



Bobin is an active member of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR. She holds a White & Case International Arbitration LL.M. from the University of Miami, where she studied under Professor Jan Paulsson and served as research staff for the ICC Cost Management Project. Dr Louise Parsons

Louise Parsons is an Associate Professor and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law at Bond University, Australia. She has completed a PhD in Law (Bond University) and a Master of Laws (University of South Africa). Before moving to Australia from South Africa in 2006, she gained extensive experience in international commercial transactions as in-house counsel for the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) and as Commercial Specialist at SASOL. As head of the Corporate, Commercial and Employment Law Division at SARB, she participated in numerous mediations and arbitrations. Louise is an admitted Advocate of the High Court of South Africa. Her academic interests include international arbitration and contracts, blockchain and cryptocurrencies, the regulation of central banks and the regulatory frameworks for financial stability, civil remedies, and legal education. Louise has coached moot teams for the William C Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition and the Vis (East) Competition every year since 2009. She has also acted as arbitrator and judge of written memoranda every year.

Ms Nariat Pashaeva

Nariat studied law at the University of Oslo, completing a five-year Master of Laws, a Bachelor in International Relations, and an LL.M. in Public International Law, where she pursued multiple specializations, including international economic law. She has gained professional and research experience globally, including as a Research Assistant at the Public International Law Center of the Kapodistrian University in Athens and as a Researcher at the Bilkent University Human Rights Center.

She participated in the 2023/24 Vis Moot and was part of the team that placed 2nd in the International Sports Arbitration Moot 2024/25, where she also acted as an arbitrator in friendly rounds. She continues to stay active in the moot community as arbitrator.

Ms Petra Pataki

Petra Pataki is a Partner at Queritius. She focuses her practise on high-stakes international and domestic commercial disputes and litigation with international elements before Hungarian courts. She has experience handling such cases before various arbitral forums, including the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Vienna Arbitral Centre (VIAC), the Permanent Arbitration Court attached to the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MKIK), as well as ad hoc arbitration under the rules of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL).

Ms Tina Patterson

Ms. Tina Patterson is Founder and Principal of Jade Solutions LLC, an international arbitrator and mediator specializing in FinTech, technology, intellectual property, and commercial disputes. I am a former mootie, and I participated in the 30th Vis Moot in 2022/2023 with the team from Aarhus University. Together with my team, I participated in several pre-moots in Europe and the US, and I pleaded in Vienna where we made it to the round of 16. After the Vis Moot, I wrote my Master's thesis on the CISG. I have also studied as an exchange student at South Texas College of Law.

Professor Dr Niek Peters

Professor Dr Niek Peters is an expert in the field of (international) arbitration, both commercial and investment. He has been counsel in numerous arbitrations and court proceedings, governed by various procedural and substantive laws, relating to diverse legal issues (e.g. M&A, shareholder disputes, commercial contracts, investments, director’s liability and professional liability) and sectors (e.g. energy, construction, engineering and IT). I am the Head of Development of the Estonian Cyber Reserve at the Estonian Information System Authority, responsible for turning a bold national idea into an operational capability. My focus is on building a “one‑of‑a‑kind” cyber reserve that actually works in practice: concept, governance, legal architecture, talent model, and real-world readiness. Grounded in Estonia’s digital state experience, I aim to develop a model that can inspire allies and partners globally. Mr Fabio Postiasi

Fabio Postiasi has been in DORDA's Dispute Resolution Team since January 2023. He specialises in international commercial arbitration and cross-border litigation as well as construction and plant engineering disputes. He has also published in these areas. During his time at DORDA, he has been involved in litigation and arbitration proceedings of all kinds as well as legal research and strategic thinking. Mr Bautista Ramirez Giusti

Bautista is an Argentinean attorney. He works as a Case Manager at Arbat, A Law Corporation, a law firm based in California, US. Mrs Katherine Raynal

I am the Executive Director of the soon-to-launch Chicago
International Arbitration Center (ChIAC). I also serve on
the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) roster
of arbitrators in Chicago. Prior to that, I was in-house
counsel for approximately 10 years, specialising in litigation
and arbitration management. I was also responsible for
employment policies and disputes, and I conducted internal

Mr Terrance Reed

Terrance (“Terry”) Reed is a member of the Virginia law firm of Lankford & Reed PLLC. In May, 2015, Mr. Reed obtained a jury acquittal of the pricing director of a maritime company in Puerto Rico federal court in what the Justice Department claimed was “one of the largest domestic price fixing conspiracies ever investigated by the United States.” In August, 2015, Mr. Reed co-authored the American Bar Association’s Supreme Court brief supporting the right to use legal assets for criminal defense counsel. In November, 2015, Mr. Reed obtained the voluntary dismissal of a bribery conspiracy indictment allegedly involving $59 million in Iraq reconstruction contracts. Mr. Reed has long represented the claims of the American diplomats taken hostage by Iran for which Congress enacted compensation in December, 2015. Mr. Reed has represented countries, companies, and individuals in numerous commercial disputes. An American Law Institute member since 2003, Mr. Reed served as a law clerk to Judges John Sirica of the District of Columbia, and Warren Ferguson of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in California. Mr. Reed graduated from McGill University and Georgetown Law School.

Mr Ryan Reetz

Ryan Reetz, the managing partner of Bryan Cave's Miami (USA) office, represents clients as trial counsel in international and domestic commercial and regulatory disputes. In addition to acting as counsel, he serves as an arbitrator in international commercial disputes. Mr. Reetz teaches international commercial arbitration as an adjunct professor at Emory University School of Law, and taught at the University of Miami School of Law from 2003 to 2010. Mr Raphael Reiss

I participated in the Vis Moot for the University of Tübingen in 2018/2019 and stayed on as a student coach for the Tübingen team in 2019/2020. I finished my German first state exam (JD equivalent) in 2022 as the first of 810 graduates in the state of Baden-Württemberg and completed an MJur at the University of Oxford. I am currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Cologne with Professor Berger. In my thesis, I aim to delineate the rights and duties of the participants to a mediation proceeding (parties and mediator) under German law while also keeping a legal comparative perspective. For that, I occasionally make forays into English law.

My research interests lie in corporate law, conflict of laws and ADR. I have given lectures on the CISG at the University of Tübingen.

Dr Edward Rensmann

Edward is an Associate at Hanefeld, a leading international dispute resolution boutique with offices in Hamburg and Paris. His practice focuses on complex, high-value disputes in both investment treaty and international commercial arbitration.

He has advised a diverse range of clients in proceedings conducted under various institutional rules and across multiple jurisdictions and industries, including the energy sector and post-M&A disputes. Professor Carla Reyes

Carla L. Reyes is an Associate Professor of Law at the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in Dallas, Texas. Professor Reyes teaches and researches at the intersection of commercial law and emerging technologies. In recognition of her work and expertise, she was elected to the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers in April 2025 and elected to the American Law Institute in December 2023. Professor Reyes was a formal advisor to the joint Uniform Law Commission and American Law Institute drafting committee that resulted in the 2022 Amendments to the Uniform Commercial Code. Professor Reyes was also an expert member of the UNIDROIT working group that produced the Principles on Digital Assets and Private Law. Professor Reyes currently serves as an Associate Research Director for the Permanent Editorial Board for the Uniform Commerical Code. Mr Tomáš Richter

Tomáš Richter practises law at JŠK, advokátní kancelář in Prague. He graduated from Charles University Law School in 1994, received his LL.M. from the Central European University in 1996, and Ph.D. (2002) from the Masaryk University Law School. Between 2011 and 2014, he held the Chair in Cross-Border Corporate Insolvency Law at the Radboud University Nijmegen Law School. In 2018, he completed habilitation proceedings at the Prague School of Economics.

He specializes in corporate distress and insolvency and in resolution of disputes arising from them, as well as in commercial arbitration. He served as the Chair of INSOL Europe's Academic Forum and member of the Board of Directors of the International Insolvency Institute. Professor Catherine Rogers

Catherine A. Rogers is a professor at Penn State Law and Queen Mary, University of London, where she is also Co-Director of the Institute on Ethics & Regulation. Her scholarship focuses on the convergence of the public and private in international adjudication, and on the reconceptualization of the attorney as a global actor. Professor Rogers is a Reporter for the American Law Institute’s Restatement of the U.S. Law (Third) of International Commercial Arbitration, one of the ICC Palestine’s delegated members of the Court of Arbitration for the Jerusalem Arbitration Center, and co-chair, together with William W. “Rusty” Park, of the ICCA-Queen Mary Task Force on Third-Party Funding in International Arbitration. She is the president and founder of Arbitrator Intelligence, a non-profit entity aiming to increase transparency, fairness, and accountability in the arbitrator selection process. Her book, Ethics in International Arbitration, was recently published by Oxford University Press.

Ms Caterina Romano

Caterina Romano is an Italian trainee lawyer currently based between Milan and London, working with M.B. Kemp LLP in the firm’s International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution practice. She assists in complex cross-border disputes under English and Italian law, including proceedings before the LCIA, DIAC and DIFC, with a particular focus on contractual interpretation, post-award enforcement, and cross-border execution issues.

Ms Carrie Rosato

Carrie Rosato participated in the moot in 2014 and 2015 for Florida State University. After clerking for a Florida appellate judge, Ms. Rosato joined the Department of Justice in 2018, representing the United States in complex patent and other IP matters, with a primary focus on litigation involving federal agencies. Ms. Rosato handles civil litigation and counseling involving patents and related IP in federal court, including the US Court of Federal Claims, often in cases involving sophisticated technologies used or developed by the government. Dorothee Ruckteschler was partner at CMS Hasche Sigle, the largest German law firm, until

Dorothee Ruckteschler Dispute Resolution and since then concentrates on her work as

Mr Felipe Rusinque

I am a Colombian qualified lawyer and an SJD candidate at the Central European University, Vienna, Austria. I hold an LLM in international business law and a PgDip in contract law. My main research interests include international commercial arbitration and international commercial contracts.

Before joining the Department of Legal Studies at CEU, I was a legal advisor in arbitral tribunals of infrastructure and public procurement governed by the Colombian lex arbitri and the arbitration rules of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá. I also have hands-on experience in the legislative work and research activities of UNCITRAL, particularly in the areas of arbitration and dispute settlement.

Regarding my academic work, I co-authored a textbook on notarial law and have published several research articles in the fields of international arbitration, civil procedure and public procurement. My LLM thesis focused on the interpretation and scope of article 4 of the CISG, with the aim of determining which validity-related issues fall within the CISG’s scope and which are left to the law applicable pursuant to the rules of private international law.

Mr Jiri Rydl

Jiri participated in the 28th and 29th Vis Moot, where he learned everything there is about viral vectors and palm oil. Ms Katrina Salmgrieze

Katrina Salmgrieze has received the Bachelor`s degree in law from the University of Latvia in 2013 and the Master`s degree in law from the same university in 2015. Prof Praveen Sandhu

Praveen is a distinguished professional in the field of arbitration and mediation. She is the founder of Ekaas Resolve, where she currently serves as an arbitrator and mediator. While her primary base is in Canada, her practice extends internationally.

Mr Håvard Sanne-Halvorsen

My name is Håvard Sanne-Halvorsen. I recently completed a five-year Master of Laws program at the University of Oslo, with a strong academic record and a particular focus on international commercial law, dispute resolution, investment law, and arbitration. I currently work as an International Arbitration intern at WilmerHale (London) from January-April 2026.

In 2025 I submitted a dissertation in which explores the international law principle of systemic integration in investment arbitration, looking at integration of human rights and environmental law in disputes involving Indigenous Peoples.

Mr Vignesh Santhosh

Vignesh S is a litigation lawyer from India with over three years of experience practising before the High Court of Kerala. Jurij Santschi is a Prosecutor in the Canton Appenzell Ausserrhoden. I teach and publish in the fields of Private International Law, International Commercial Law, and International & Comparative Commercial Arbitration, and I actively participate in European research networks and EU-funded projects in the Justice and Consumers policy areas.
Alongside my academic activity, I advise and represent clients in civil and commercial matters involving an international element, with particular experience in complex jurisdictional questions and contractual disputes.
My current professional trajectory increasingly centres on international arbitration, with a particular interest in the interaction between EU law and arbitral proceedings, choice-of-law issues, and cross-border enforcement.
I also participate as a national expert in European and international research and legislative projects, including work related to the application of Regulation (EU) No 1215/2012.

Mr Hrach Sargsyan

Hrach Sargsyan is a Licensed Attorney and Legal Counsel at Ardshinbank, the leading bank in the Republic of Armenia. His career started from a law firm in 2022, after which he joined the Center for Legislation Development Foundation of the Ministry of Justice of RA in the middle of 2023. Hrach coordinates the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Clinic of the LL.M. program of the American University of Armenia. Mr Jan K. Schaefer

Rechtsanwalt, Partner, King & Spalding LLP, International Arbitration Practice Group, resident in the Frankfurt office. Legal studies in Passau, London (Cert. Comp. Law, SOAS), Freiburg (First State Exam.), Utrecht (Erasmus) and Singapore (LL.M., NUS). He did his practical training in Dortmund and Paris and was research fellow at the Asser Institute in The Hague. Mr. Schaefer acts as counsel in domestic and international arbitration proceedings, including ICSID, and was appointed as sole and party-appointed arbitrator as well as chairman in more than 45 ICC, including as ICC Emergency Arbitrator, DIS, including under the DIS Supplementary Rules for Corporate Law Disputes, DIAC, NAI, SCC and SIAC matters. Mr Lukas Scheidl

Lukas Scheidl is an associate in the dispute resolution team of Binder Grösswang in Vienna. He holds a law degree from the University of Vienna, where he also worked as a Research Assistant at the Institute for Constitutional and Administrative Law. He was part of the University of Vienna's team that won the Werner Melis Award for Best Respondent Memorandum at the 27th edition of the Vis Moot.

Mr Daniel Schellenberg

Daniel participated in the 26th Vis Moot (2018/2019) in both Vienna and Hong Kong as a member of the Frankfurt Team. He is currently pursuing his PhD and working as a Research Assistant at Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany. Daniel graduated from Goethe University in 2022 with a specialization in commercial and corporate law. During his studies, he interned in the Department of International Procedural Law and Arbitration at the German Federal Ministry of Justice in Berlin. Additionally, Daniel has gained arbitration expertise by serving as an arbitrator for the 30th and 31st Vis Moot competitions and the Berlin Pre-Moot for the 27th Vis Moot.

Dr Niels Schiersing

Dr Niels Schiersing (born in 1960 and a national of the Kingdom of Denmark) is dual qualified and admitted to practice law in Denmark (advocate) and in England & Wales (solicitor), giving him profound and in-depth knowledge of civil law and common law principles alike.
He holds the degree of Dr. Jur. (Doctor Juris), which is, inter alia, equivalent to Dr. Habil. (Doctor Habilitatus).
Dr Schiersing specialises in (comparative) contract law, i.e. the formation, construction/interpretation, adaption, performance, termination and breach of contract, including the principles for calculation and determination of damages, with a wide application regarding industries and sectors and in both a common law and a civil law context.
Dr Schiersing has been appointed as arbitrator, often sole arbitrator or presiding arbitrator/chairperson, as well as emergency arbitrator, by e.g. ICC, LCIA, SIAC, SCC, DIAC, KCAB, HKIAC, AFSA, FAI and DIA. Also, he is sitting arbitrator in various ad hoc arbitrations, including under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules.

Mr Michael A. Schifferli

Michael is a partner with Wenger Plattner Attorneys in Zurich, Switzerland. He mainly represents small to mid-size firms and individuals in commercial disputes before state courts and arbitral tribunals. In addition, Michael advises Private Clients on estate planning and dealing with banks. In this context, Michael has experience dealing with foundation structures and the law of associations. In his fields of expertise, Michael has acted as tribunal secretary and sits as arbitrator.

Michael participated in the 22nd Vis Moot and has coached the University of Berne's Vis Moot team for the 23rd, 24th, 25th and 26th Moot. He has continued his involvement with the Vis Moot as a volunteer arbitrator. He regularly speaks and publishes in his fields of expertise and is an active member of the international association of young lawyers (AIJA) where he currently serves at the National Representative for Switzerland.

Ms Marzia Schilleci

Marzia is a dual-qualified arbitration and litigation lawyer (Switzerland / New York) and a Senior Associate in the CMS Dispute Resolution team in Zurich. She focuses on disputes arising out of construction, distribution (specifically in the medical and pharmaceutical field), and infrastructure projects, both in commercial and investment arbitration. In addition, she represents clients in matters involving international sanctions, publishes and speaks on arbitration and sanctions-related topics.

Marzia acted as counsel under several major institutional rules, including ICC, Swiss Rules, UNCITRAL, and AAA, advising on multi-million-euro claims and emergency relief. She also assists clients in the enforcement of arbitral awards in Swiss courts. She combines her civil law and common law background to support clients with strategic pre-arbitration planning, arbitral procedure, and post-award remedies.

Dr Richárd Schmidt

Dr. Richard Schmidt LL.M, PhD is founding and managing partner of SMARTLEGAL Schmidt & Partners, a boutique law firm located in Budapest, Hungary. Richard focuses on commercial arbitration and litigation in international and domestic cases.

Martin Schmidt-Kessel (Doctorate Freiburg 2001; Habilitation Freiburg 2003) is full Professor for German and European Consumer Law, Private Law and Comparative Law and Director of the Centre for Consumer Law at the University of Bayreuth. He serves as Secretary General and Chair of the Private Law Section of the German Association of Comparative Law. He is Member of the European Law Institute and Associate Member to the International Academy of Comparative Law. Martin Schmidt-Kessel serves as speaker of the Joint Doctorate Verona-Bayreuth in European Legal Studies. He is i.a. co-author in the Schlechtriem-Schwenzer-Commentary, founding Editor of the GPR – Zeitschrift für das Privatrecht der Europäischen Union and involved in supervising Vis Moot Teams since 1994.

Mag Moritz Schnell

Moritz Schnell has been an associate in DORDA's Dispute Resolution Team since 2024. He specializes in international commercial arbitration and cross-border litigation, construction and plant engineering disputes as well as commercial and distribution law.
Before joining DORDA, Moritz Schnell studied law at the University of Vienna, gaining practical experience at renowned law firms throughout his studies. He also spent a semester abroad at the Université catholique de Louvain in Belgium and participated in the International Roman Law Moot Court.

Ms Sabrine Schnyder

Sabrine Schnyder is an independent arbitrator and solo practitioner in Zurich and Geneva, Switzerland. With 10 years experience in the field of international dispute resolution (both as counsel and arbitrator), she represents clients before major arbitral institutions and national courts. Her focus lies in finding pragmatic solutions for her clients and resolve disputes in the most efficient manner. Dario Schönbächler participated as a Mootie in the 28th Vis Moot for the University of Lucerne. He has been coaching the team of the University of Lucerne since the 29th Vis Moot. Dario Schönbächler has worked at Wenger Vieli Ltd., a Swiss full service business law firm as a junior lawyer. Dr Dorothee Schramm

Dorothee is an independent arbitrator who combines Swiss neutrality and pragmatism with a global outlook and hands-on experience with high-value disputes around the world. A Swiss lawyer by qualification and former partner at Sidley Austin LLP, she feels at home in both civil law and common law contexts, having been part of a common law team for over a decade. I am a German trained lawyer. After graduating from Martin-Luther University of Halle (Wittenberg) in 2019, I worked in several law firms as a trainee and research assistant. In 2021, I obtained my LL.M. from University of Miami in International Arbitration. From 2022 to 2024, I did my legal clerkship and Second State Exam in Düsseldorf, North-Rhine Westphalia. Prof Dr Ingeborg Schwenzer

Ingeborg Schwenzer is Dean of Swiss International Law School and Professor emerita of Private Law at the University of Basel, Switzerland. Additionally, she is an adjunct professor at Bond University, Gold Coast, Australia, and has been an adjunct professor at City University, Hong Kong, and at Griffith University, Brisbane, Australia. She has published numerous books and more than 200 articles in the fields of law of obligations (contracts, tort law and unjust enrichment, sales law both domestic and international), commercial arbitration as well as family law. In particular, she is the editor and main contributor of the world's leading Commentary on the Convention on the International Sale of Goods (CISG) (4th edition, Oxford, OUP: 2016) and its German, Spanish, Portuguese and Turkish counterparts. Ingeborg Schwenzer is the chair of the CISG Advisory Council. She is also active in all areas of legal practice. In particular, she regularly acts as arbitrator, counsel and legal expert in international disputes.

Mr Jakob Secklehner

I have a rich background in international law, starting with my active participation in the 24th Vis Moot and later as coach of the University of Graz team for the 25th and 26th Vis Moot. I hold a Mag. Iur. in Law and an MSc in International Economics and I am pursuing a PhD in Law at the University of Vienna, where I also gained extensive teaching and research experience as a University Assistant.

I currently work as associate at law firm E+H Attorneys-at-Law in Vienna, focusing on IT, Data Protection and Consumer Law. I previously worked as Head of Legal at an Austrian FinTech company and as administrative secretary in various international commercial arbitrations.

Mrs Jana Sedláková

Founder of SEDLAKOVA LEGAL. Based in Brno and serving clients all over the world, the company is regularly ranked among top law firms in the Czech Republic in IT and IP. Prof Dr Sören Segger-Piening

Prof. Dr. Sören Segger-Piening, LL.M. Eur. is a Professor of Civil Law, Private International Law and another subject at the University of Osnabrück, European Legal Studies Institute. His research focuses on questions of contract law, private international law with a special focus on the international dimensions of digitalisation, various regulatory acts of the European Union in the realm of digitalisation and consumer protection as well as civil procedure. Dr Ismail Selim

Prof. Dr. Ismail Selim, FCIArb, is an independent arbitrator and attorney-at-law with extensive experience in complex international commercial and construction disputes, with a particular focus on the Middle East, Africa, and cross-border matters. Throught, almost thirty years of Professional experience, Dr. Selim has assumed different roles in the judiciary, private legal practice, academia, arbitral tribunals, and arbitral institution directorship.

Prof. Selim has acted as arbitrator (President, co-arbitrator, and sole arbitrator) in a wide range of international and domestic arbitrations under the rules of leading institutions, including the ICC, CRCICA, DIAC, DIFC-LCIA, SCC, CAS, ADCCAC, BCDR, GZAC, OAC, LAMC, NSAT and in UNCITRAL ad hoc proceedings. Prof. Selim is the current president of International Federation of Commercial Arbitration Institutions (IFCAI), the Chair of the Charted Institute of Arbitrators (Egypt Branch), the vice-president of the African Arbitration Association (AfAA), and a CIArb tutor on the approved faculty list.

In parallel to his arbitration practice, Prof. Selim is an Associate Professor at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University. He has authored several articles on international arbitration. Mr Vladyslav Semerynskyi

Vladyslav Semerynskyi is an associate in the International Dispute Resolution Practice Group. He specialises in international commercial arbitration, investment treaty arbitration and domestic litigation in Poland. Vlad represents clients in disputes across various sectors, including construction, aerospace, commodities, energy, transportation and sports.

Dr Riccardo Serafin

I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute for European Tort Law in Vienna. Before joining the Institute, I was a Research Fellow in Private Law at the University of Turin and a Blue Book Trainee at the European Commission in Brussels. In 2025, I completed my PhD in Law at the University of Turin, where I defended a thesis on comparative tort law. Additionally, I hold a 'Magister Juris' (MJur) degree from the University of Oxford, where I specialised in English private law, as well as a law degree from the University of Turin. I have been part of the University of Turin's team during the 26th edition of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, and I have served as coach and arbitrator ever since. My areas of interest include comparative private law, with a particular focus on contract and tort law, and EU private law.

Mr Marco Seregni

I am an Italian and New York qualified lawyer practising international arbitration (commercial and investment), public international law and human rights law at Withers in London. Before joining Withers, I spent some time working at arbitral institutions (the ICC in Paris and the Milan Chamber of Arbitration) and four years working in commercial arbitration in an Italian firm. I have a degree in law from Bocconi University (cum laude) and an LLM in International Legal Studies from New York University. I was a mootie in the 25th VIS Moot representing Bocconi University, have coached Bocconi University for a few years after that and still am a big mootie enthusiast!

Mr Mustafa Sert

Mustafa Sert is an Associate at the Danish law firm Gorrissen Federspiel. Mustafa practises in the Dispute Resolution department, where he represents Danish and international clients in high-stakes international commercial arbitration and complex commercial litigation. His experience spans financial services disputes, post-M&A arbitration, professional and management liability claims, maritime and shipping matters, and technology disputes involving IT and software contracts. He has extensive experience with international, cross-border disputes in both arbitration and litigation, including the procedural aspects that regularly arise in such disputes, such as international jurisdiction and choice of law.

Mustafa participated in the 31st Vis Moot, representing the University of Copenhagen, where he handled the procedural issues of the dispute. Since then, he has maintained a strong connection with the University of Copenhagen team and has served as a volunteer arbitrator in numerous pre-moots in both 2025 and 2026, preparing the team for the competition in Vienna. Mustafa has a deep appreciation for the competition and its spirit and is very enthusiastic about contributing to the oral hearings at the 33rd Vis Moot in Vienna this year.

Mr Jalal Seyedabadi

Jalal Seyedabadi is a young international arbitration practitioner. He has been involved in several proceedings under ICC, SCIA, VIAC UNCITRAL, ACIC, and SIAC as counsel and advisor which involved the law of England, France and Iran as the applicable law to the substance. Jalal also has experience in delivering corporate and transactional legal services to several major companies, mainly for arrangements in infrastructure, construction, and energy (ICE) as well as commerce and investment. Jalal's academic focus is the impact of recent technology developments on international dispute resolution, and currently, AI and international arbitration form the core of his attention. He is a moot alumnus and has coached a number of teams from different countries in arbitration-related competitions.

Mr Mohammad Ismail Shahid

I serve as an Associate at Saad Ahsan Legal Aid Management and as a Programme Coordinator and Tutor at the International College for Legal Studies (ICLS), where I managed academic programs, organised legal events, and taught Criminal Law. As an Associate at the ICLS Dispute Resolution Centre, he has contributed to arbitration and mediation initiatives in Pakistan.

I have extensive experience in international mooting and ADR competitions. He participated in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (2021), the Hong Kong Mediation Competition, and the Jean-Pictet International Law Moot. Dr Eunice Shang-Simpson

Dual qualified in Ghana and the UK, Eunice is a Solicitor-Advocate, and an International Arbitrator and Mediator. She is a Lecturer/Practitioner in Law at Canterbury Christ Church University. Eunice is a former Specialist Crown Prosecutor and Seconded National Expert to the UK Desk at Eurojust in the Hague, and a frequent Arbitrator at the annual Vis Moot in Vienna. She is also the Chair of the International Committee of the Law Society of England & Wales and Vice President of the Kent Law Society.

A Member of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Africa Commission representing Ghana, Eunice was recently appointed as a Member to the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR.

Passionate about helping women and girls reach their full potential, Eunice is an Alumni Mentor of the Cherie Blair Foundation Mentoring Women in Business Programme, which matches women in middle income countries with mentors around the world, a Trustee of the Arbitration Fund for African Students and a Director of Golden Age School, a Junior High School in Ghana. Dr. Patricia Shaughnessy, an associate professor at Stockholm University, specialises in international dispute resolution and commercial law. She is the President of the Vis Moot Organization. She is a member of ICC Court and the ICC Commission since 2021, and a member of the international board of the Georgian International Arbitration Centre.
From 2006 to 2019, Patricia was a Board Member, and for two terms, the Vice-Chair of the Board of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC) for two terms, and on the Board since 2006, and was a member of the committees drafting the SCC Rules. She was a government-appointed expert on the legislative committee that proposed the recent revisions to the Swedish Arbitration Act. She serves as arbitrator and expert in international disputes and as consultant in legal development projects. She practiced law law for ten years in the US and has served as a US Supreme Court fellow.

Mr Iain Sheridan,

Iain Sheridan is a barrister based in London focused on financial services regulation, especially MiFID. He has been a Vis Moot arbitrator for 12 years. He is a full-time tenant at Mountford Chambers.

In the past he was head of legal Europe and Asia for the financial sector dedicated investment bank Fox-Pitt, Kelton. His consulting projects have included advising ABN AMRO, Bank of America, Bank of China, Barclays, BlackRock, Citadel, Citigroup, Deutsche Bank, Fidelity International, and Société Générale. In the context of arbitration, he has been instructed by the OECD and the United Nations, training high court judges in Beirut and Kharkiv on the New York Convention.

His law and technology articles have been published by Butterworths, Kluwer, Oxford University Press, Sweet & Maxwell, and the Royal Society. His first book, Financial Regulation and Technology (2022, Edward Elgar), is relied on by many legal practitioners, and has been purchased globally by over 100 universities worldwide. Iain’s second book, to be published in March 2025, is entitled 'Semiconductors – Law, Strategy and Tax'.

Mr Jay Shin

Jae Myoung Shin (Jay) is Head of the SIAC North East Asia Office, where he leads SIAC’s outreach and business development efforts across Korea, Japan, Russia, Central Asia, and Eastern Europe. He works closely with arbitral institutions, law firms, government bodies, academics, and in-house counsel to promote the use and understanding of international arbitration and to support the development of arbitration practice in the region.

At SIAC, his work includes introducing and explaining the SIAC Rules to users, monitoring regional case trends and legislative developments, and organizing workshops, seminars, conferences, and academic programmes across Asia and Europe. He is also actively involved in mentoring younger practitioners and supporting student engagement with international arbitration, including through moot courts, networking events, volunteer programmes, and training initiatives.

Prior to joining SIAC, Jay served as an administrative officer at the Ministry of Education, where he was responsible for business development of the EPIK (English Program in Korea) programme, international MOU arrangements, and the design of online and offline training programmes. Before that, he was Head of Team at a government-funded education institution providing courses in project management and dispute resolution. Earlier in his career, he worked as a journalist for the press and as a freelance reporter for Korean national television.

Jay has a Specialist Degree in journalism from Saint Petersburg State University, Russia, and a Juris Doctor from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Korea. He speaks English, Korean, and Russian.

Ms Daria Shliapnikova

Daria Shliapnikova is an attorney at law admitted to the Moscow City Bar, Russia, currently based in Vienna, Austria. She specialises in ADR and holds a master's degree in Private International Law from the National Research University Higher School of Economics, as well as an LLM in Public International Law from the University of Vienna. With extensive experience, Daria has successfully represented clients in domestic courts and international commercial arbitrations.

Mr Zeyad Shoeib

Zeyad Shoeib is a final-year law student at Alexandria University (English Section), ranking in the top 2% of his cohort. He represented his university at the 32nd Willem C. Vis Moot in Vienna as the merits-side pleader and was recognized as the highest-scoring oralist of his team.
Currently, he is serving as a Presiding Arbitrator in the MMCS International Maritime Arbitration Competition 2025, where he leads hearings and evaluates pleaders, further sharpening his skills in tribunal management and impartial assessment.
Zeyad has gained hands-on experience through internships with Al Tamimi & Company, Amereller, and other leading firms, working on corporate, arbitration, and litigation matters across Egyptian and UAE law. Mark L. Shope J.D., LL.M., MCIArb, is an Associate Professor of Law at the National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University School of Law in Hsinchu, Taiwan. Dr Christof Siefarth

Christof Siefarth is a partner in BODENHEIMER, an international dispute resolution law firm since October 2020.

He graduated from the University of Cologne, School of Law in 1984 (first exam) and 1989 (second state exam) and obtained a doctors degree (summa cum laude, with high honors) in 1990 with a doctoral thesis on “US Motion Picture Copyright Law”. In addition, Christof spent a year studying international and comparative law at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, in 1980/81 and obtained a Master of Laws degree from the University of Georgia, School of Law in 1985/1986. In 1991, Christof worked as an associate with Kilpatrick Townsend in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, mainly dealing with copyright and trademark matters.

Kyle spent two years in Clermont-Ferrand, France, teaching International Sales and United States Constitutional Law, among other courses. Ms Skyanne Simonson

Skyanne Simonson is an SMU Dedman School of Law alumna with judicial clerkship experience with both Vice Chief Justice John Lopez of the Arizona Supreme Court (2023-2024) and Judge Jennifer Thurston of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California (2024-2025). Skyanne will be starting as a litigation associate at O’Melveny & Myers LLP in the Dallas office this fall. Skyanne received her J.D. from SMU Dedman School of Law, where she was an active member of and Vice Chair of Student Affairs for the SMU chapter of the Board of Advocates. Skyanne competed in mock trial, moot court, and alternative dispute resolution competitions, and was ultimately inducted into the Order of the Barristers. Since graduating, Skyanne has returned as an advocacy fellow and adjunct professor to help foster advocacy skills in the next generation of SMU Dedman School of Law students. In addition to teaching Experiential International Commercial Arbitration, Skyanne serves as a coach for the Willem C. Mr Harp Singh

Harprabdeep was called to the Hong Kong Bar in 2015. Since then he has developed a predominantly civil practice with a focus on general civil, commercial, company and arbitration. He has appeared in all levels of Court in a wide range of commercial litigation. In one of his most recent cases, he is acting for one of the largest bitcoin exchange platforms globally (worth over US$100 billion) in the High Court over allegations of hacking.

Harprabdeep is also routinely instructed in arbitrations (domestic and international) as counsel and tribunal secretary. His arbitration practice regularly covers issues concerning laws across several jurisdictions. Recently, he acted for a major Chinese printing and packaging manufacturer in an international arbitration lead by a London QC in relation to claims made against a leading German financial institution in excess of US$20 million following the non-disbursement of certain senior and convertible loans. He is also one of several counsels assisting a South Asian Government in an ICSID claim against allegations of expropriation of private property.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Tidarat Sinlapapiromsuk is a law professor and the Vice Dean for International Affairs at Chulalongkorn University. She holds a fellowship from the NUS and a SIAC Academy Certificate.
Dr. Tidarat has extensive experience as a presiding, sole, and co-arbitrator, and party-appointed expert in high-profile complex cases. Her work covers infrastructure, government contracts, construction, international business, telecommunications, extractive industries, and ICSID award. She serves on the CIArb Thailand Board, various arbitration committees, and the IBA APF committee (2026–2027). She is also a special expert providing legal opinions on FIDIC contracts regarding regional infrastructure projects.
Her specializations include Multi-Jurisdictional Disputes, State-Owned Enterprises, Sovereign Immunity, International Commercial and Investment Arbitration, and FDI Law. She focus on construction, energy and mining law, energy transition, CCS, petroleum JDA and PPP. Additionally, she covers competition law (merger filings and TPA in energy sector), public procurement, and corporate compliance (ESG, FCPA, CBAM).

During my studies, I represented Universidad Carlos III in the 31st edition of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. The team was awarded the Eric E. Bergsten Award for advancing to the Round of 32 and also won the ICC Pre-Moot. I have since remained actively involved in moot court activities, coaching the Universidad Carlos III team for the Frankfurt International Arbitration Moot Court.

Mr Srihari Satyanarayana Somayaji

I am an Indian-qualified lawyer with over six years of professional experience in dispute resolution, specializing in Contract law, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Laws, and Commercial Arbitration. My practice has primarily focused on representing clients in complex commercial disputes, where I have gained substantial experience in both litigation and Arbitration. Over the years, I have independently conducted multiple domestic Arbitral proceedings and have also participated in a couple of Arbitrations under the aegis of the International Court of Arbitration and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, which has provided me with a strong foundation in case management, advocacy, and arbitral procedure.

In addition to my professional practice, I am currently pursuing my Master’s in International Commercial Arbitration Law at Stockholm University to help me further deepen my knowledge in cross border transactions by studying the various international arbitration frameworks, comparison of the arbitral rules along with appreciating the theory and practice in international Arbitration.

Ms Ramona Sorgenfrei

Ramona Sorgenfrei is a Managing Associate in the Orrick International Arbitration team in Dusseldorf, and a doctoral candidate at the chair of Prof. Dr. Schmidt-Kessel at the University of Bayreuth. She studied law with additional training in economics at the University of Bayreuth and passed the first state examination in July 2017 and her second state examination in August 2022.

As a former assistant of Prof. Dr. Schmidt-Kessel, she became interested in the CISG quite early and has worked and researched in this field in depth. Ramona is a former Vis Moot participant (22nd Vis Moot) and has been coaching the team of the University of Bayreuth ever since. Accordingly, she now is a lecturer at the University of Bayreuth and imparts knowledge on the CISG and arbitration laws and supports the drafting phase of the memoranda.
Prior to joining Orrick, Ramona worked as an Associate in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Team of Clifford Chance and before that also as a research assistant and law clerk for the Dispute Resolution and Arbitration departments of McDermott Will & Emery and Baker McKenzie in Duesseldorf.

Ms Suneha Bhandary Sowkoor

Suneha Bhandary Sowkoor is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in International Commercial Arbitration at Stockholm University and has four years of experience in dispute resolution. Her interest in arbitration first developed during law school, where she represented her university in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot on three occasions. These experiences deepened her passion for international arbitration. She later served as an arbitrator in the Vis Moots of 2022 and 2023, held in Hong Kong and Vienna, respectively.

She has been practicing as a Senior Associate with the Disputes team at AKS Law Associates. Over the past four years, she has independently handled complex cases involving arbitration and commercial disputes, managing every stage from legal research and strategy to representation before various forums.

Mr Yunus Emre Soygenis

I have been practising as a lawyer since July 2021, and I am a member of the Istanbul Bar Association. Following the completion of my bachelor's degree at Marmara University in Istanbul/Türkiye, I obtained a master's degree with a 100% scholarship (Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship, powered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary) from the European and International Business Law department at Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Budapest/Hungary. I graduated in July 2023, having completed a master's thesis on "Alternative Dispute Resolutions for International Joint Ventures". Additionally, I was a team member of Karoli in the 30th VisMoot.
Presently, I am pursuing my PhD at Karoli with a 100% scholarship. My PhD research focuses on the "Legal Protection of International Investments in Hungary-Türkiye Trade Relations".
I have been residing in Budapest since 2022.

Ms Fani Spalevic

Ms Fani Spalevic is a PhD candidate as well as a teaching fellow at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Law, where she holds practical lectures in Private International Law. Fani is also a member of the editorial board of Eudaimonia, a journal of legal, political and social theory and philosophy. She participated in the 30th Vis Moot as a member of Univeristy of Belgrade’s team. Fani represented the team as an oralist, throughout various pre-moots and in Vienna, culminating in the very finals of the competition. This year, as well as the previous one, saw her return to Vis Moot in the capacity of a junior coach.

PD Dr Frank Spohnheimer

Frank gradutated from Saarland University in 2007 and is a Senior Lecturer at the FernUniversität in Hagen. He teaches Private and Commercical Law, Civil Procedure and Business Transactions. In his research he focuses on Properties, Brokerage contracts, Enforcement Proceedings, Arbitration and the CISG.

I am Ayush Srivastava, a licensed Advocate in India and a legal professional with focused experience in arbitration and cross-border dispute resolution. Through both in-house and law firm roles, I have developed a strong practical understanding of how procedural decisions affect efficiency, fairness, and outcomes in arbitral proceedings. Alongside practice, I maintain a strong academic engagement with arbitration jurisprudence and have participated in international conferences and research activities related to dispute settlement.

Prof Dr Marco Stacher

Marco Stacher is counsel in the Litigation and Arbitration of Walder Wyss, Zurich. He represents clients in international arbitrations as well as before state courts, and sits as arbitrator in both institutional and ad hoc matters. Marco Stacher is registered on the ICC National Committee’s (Switzerland) list. He also is a lecturer for international commercial arbitration, contracts and conflict of laws at St. Gallen University, and regularly publishes and speaks on topics related to arbitration.

Ms Ana Stanič

Ana Stanič, an English Solicitor Advocate, has over 25 years of experience of advising states, companies and international institutions on matters of energy law, EU law and international law with specific emphasis on dispute resolution.

She has been appointed as an arbitrator in ICC and SCC arbitrations and regularly represents states and companies in international commercial arbitrations and investment treaty arbitrations with a particular focus on energy (including price review arbitrations), infrastructure, maritime border disputes, and shareholder disputes. Ms Renata Steiner

Renata Steiner is a Brazilian Private Law professor in Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV) in São Paulo, independent arbitrator, and legal expert. She holds a PhD Degree from the University of São Paulo (2016) and was a visiting Scholar during her PhD studies in Ludwig-Maximilians Universität, in Munich, Germany. Before starting her own practice, Mrs. Steiner worked as counsel in two full-service law firms in São Paulo and Curitiba and as a partner of a boutique law firm in São Paulo, whose main focus lies on arbitral disputes and legal reports in Private Law matters. Mr Dimitar Stoimenov

After graduating in law from the Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridsky" and accomplishing L.LM. programm in German law Dimitar spent five years (from 2003 to 2009) at the European Legal Studies Institute in Osnabrueck as reasearch assistant at the European Legal Studies Institute, chaired by Prof. Dr. Christian von Bar, and has been working for the Study Group on an Europen Civil Code (contributing to the academic DCFR).
At the end of 2009 Dimitar started as a senior lawyer at one of the internation and reputable law firms in CEE - Peterka and Partners and has been appointed lecturer in law of obligations/civil law at the University of Sofia. Within the time period between 2012- 2017 he was co-leading the Bulgarian branch of Peterka and Partners covering the area of civil and commercial law and arbitration.
2017 I have established my own law firm focussed on commercial disputes and arbitration.

Mr Tobias A. Strecker

Tobias is a lecturer and programme director at King's College London and a practicing attorney with the German law firm BODENHEIMER where he advises clients on matters of contract law, company law and national and international disputes. He is also a visiting lecturer at Humboldt University Berlin and a visiting professor at Universidad de Puerto Rico.
He is co-founder of the website LexMea (www.lexmea.de), which features online law books and knowledge management for German law, European law and international law, including rules and regulations for international arbitration.

Ms Caroline Strohmeier

Caroline is an associate in the dispute resolution team of Pitkowitz & Partners in Vienna, where she mainly works in international arbitration. I am a junior associate in the Litigation and Dispute resolution and the Corporate practice groups of one of Hungary's market-leading law firms, Lakatos, Köves and Partners. I graduated from the Faculty of Law of Eötvös Loránd University and was a member of Bibó István College for Advanced Studies, where in addition to dispute resolution, I also dealt with contract law and European Union law and was a member of the Executive Committe and the Admissions Committee. I took part in the 2021 National Scientific Students' Associations Conference in the Department of Civil Procedure. During my university years, I have gained professional experience at international law firms, including CMS and KPMG Hungary and was teaching international and EU business law for foreign students at Budapest Business School. Mgr Martin Sztefek

Martin is an experience lawyers specializing in dispute resolution, includingboth judicial proceedings and arbitration. He has represented clients in a wide range of disputes, including construction disputes, healthcare services, and management liability. He also has extensive experience from the insurance sector. As a law student, Jason competed at the national level on multiple mock trial, arbitration, and moot court teams. Mr Vahagn Tangamyan

I am also responsible for overseeing the Romanian market and driving R&D initiatives to research and assess opportunities in new markets. Ms Mihaela Tarnovschi

Mihaela Tarnovschi is a Deputy Counsel at the Secretariat of the ICC International Court of Arbitration. Prior to joining the ICC, she completed her LLM in International Commercial Arbitration at Stockholm University, where she also participated in the 29th edition of the Vis Moot and won an Honorable Mention Werner Melis Award together with her team. She also completed an LLB in International and European Law in the Hague, where she was first introduced to Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and joined Arbitras, an organization that aims to promote the use of ADR.

Dr Maria Tatsiou

Dr. Maria Tatsiou is a Lecturer in Corporate and Financial Law at the University of Central Lancashire in Cyprus (UCLan Cyprus). She holds a PhD in Law, an LLM in Corporate Governance, and an LLB (Hons) from the University of Manchester, UK.
She has been an associate lecturer in University of Salford (2015-2019) and held the position of Teaching Fellow in Commercial Law at University of Edinburgh (2019-2020). Her PhD focused on Resilience and Corporate Governance in banks and assesses the post-Crisis organisational and regulatory failure.
She supervises LLM dissertations in fields related to her own research interests, including Corporate Governance, company law, financial regulation, and Corporate Social Responsibility.
She teaches on both the LLB and LLM programmes. The modules she teaches, include among others, International Corporate Governance, and Banking and Financial Services Regulation, and International Commercial Arbitration.
She has successfully completed the UCLan Civil and Commercial Mediation training Course in February 2021 to become a certified Commercial Mediator. Maria is an IMI Certified Mediator.
She has also undertaken training on International Arbitration and Construction Adjudication with CIArb.

Ms Ani Tavkhelidze

I'm also a Vis alumni, as I participated last year and was named as one of the best speakers in Tbilisi Vis Pre-Moot.

Mr Teemu Taxell

Teemu specializes in commercial arbitration and litigation and is a partner in a top tier dispute resolution boutique firm Lindfors & Co in Helsinki, Finland. Teemu represents clients in domestic and international arbitrations and before Finnish state courts. Teemu’s practice covers all areas and phases of disputes and conflicts from prevention of disputes and negotiations of amicable solutions through to representation in legal proceedings and enforcement of judgments and arbitral awards. He has represented clients in a wide variety of business disputes relating to e.g. various types of commercial contracts, construction and engineering, M&A transactions, insurance and insolvency. He has experience also in competition law and public procurement damages cases. In addition, Teemu regularly serves as an arbitrator. Ms Elizabeth Taylor

Elizabeth (Liz) Taylor is a Senior Associate at Reed Smith LLP and part of the firm's Insurance Recovery group. She represents policyholders in litigation and arbitration, and advises clients at all stages of the process from risk management counseling to mediation and dispute resolution. Liz also advocates for clients in domestic and international commercial arbitration proceedings, including under AAA, ICDR, LCIA, and other institutional rules. Ms Maria Teder

A former 'mootie' who had the pleasure of taking home the Pieter Sanders Award in 2011 while studying International Commercial Arbitration Law at the University of Stockholm. Currently, I am an arvitration counsel at Ellex Raidla law firm in Tallinn, Estonia, where I specialize in international arbitration and cross-border dispute resolution. I am also a delegate to the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR, and a co-founder of the Estonian Arbitration Association.

Mr Oleg TEMNIKOV

Oleg is a practising lawyer/attorney-at-law at Wolf Theiss law firm office in Sofia, Bulgaria. He graduated in 2009 from Universite Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne and was admitted to Sofia Bar in 2012.

Oleg is regularly involved in both domestic and international arbitrations, as well as court litigations. His experience includes providing advice and representing clients in complex multi-jurisdictional disputes in various sectors, such as energy, construction, transport, finance, insurance and others. Apart from litigation works, Oleg is also regularly provides legal advice in the field of regulatory matters, energy law, telecommunications etc.

Oleg is the author of several articles in the field of commercial and investment arbitration in Bulgarian and International journals, including ICSID Review, Journal of International Dispute Settlement, Kluwer Arbitration Blog, The In-House Lawyer, Lexology etc.

He is highly involved with the VIS Moot for the ninth consecutive year. Oleg has served as arbitrator in Vienna and on multiple pre-moots. Also, since 2011 he is one of the coaches of the Sofia University VIS Moot Team and one of the organizers of Sofia Pre Moot.

Mr John Templeman

John Templeman is a partner at Gryphon Law in New York. With 20+ years of experience in international dispute resolution, John specializes in commercial and investor-state arbitration. Qualified in New York, England & Wales and Western Australia, he serves as counsel and arbitrator in cases around the world. John has particular expertise in aerospace, energy, mining, finance, technology and sovereign-related matters. Ms Giulia Ternes

A recent law graduate, Giulia Ternes has cultivated a deep interest and growing expertise in arbitration since the very beginning of their academic journey. From the first year of law school, Giulia actively sought opportunities to engage with the field, joining study groups and enrolling in specialized courses focused on alternative dispute resolution and arbitration.
This early involvement laid a strong foundation for a professional path centered on resolving complex legal disputes outside of traditional courtrooms. Over the past three years, Giulia has gained hands-on experience working in the arbitration field, contributing to both domestic and international cases. During this time, Giulia developed practical skills in case management, drafting procedural documents, and assisting in hearings, while also deepening their knowledge of institutional rules and arbitral procedure.

Mrs Marine Terteryan

Graduated law faculty of French University of Armenia and Higher School of Arbitration. I’ve participated in and followed arbitration related initiatives in Armenia and abroad, including programs. I am passionate about fostering practical arbitration skills.

Mr Udit Thakran

Udit Thakran is a law graduate with over four years of experience in litigation and dispute resolution, with a particular focus on commercial disputes and both national and international arbitration. He has been associated with R.L. Bhagat & Associates, where he has contributed to a wide range of trial and appellate matters and worked consistently on arbitration-linked commercial disputes. Udit has appeared before the Supreme Court of India, various High Courts, District Courts, and specialised tribunals, and has advised and assisted in matters concerning customs disputes, civil writs, commercial claims, regulatory litigation, and Special Leave Petitions (SLPs).

His arbitration exposure includes assisting in complex disputes arising out of construction and commercial contracts, including high-value and multi-party proceedings. He has been involved in drafting and case strategy, including arbitration petitions, commercial applications, statements of claim and defence, and allied court proceedings.

Beyond practice, Udit remains actively engaged in advocacy development and legal education. He has adjudged intra-moot court competitions at UPES, served as a judge for negotiation competitions at NMIMS, and evaluated teams across multiple intra and inter-university moot court competitions. He also contributes to legal scholarship, and recently authored an article in The Bar Bulletin titled “Enforceability of Restrictive Covenants in Employment Contracts”, reflecting his interest in employment law, contractual restraints, and contemporary commercial jurisprudence.

Professor Louis Thibierge

Professor Louis Thibierge is a full professor at Aix-Marseille University. He is the head of the department of private law in his university and the director of two diplomas. He specialises in the law of contract, international business law and arbitration law. He is also a member of the Paris bar. He frequently acts as a counsel in arbitrations and provides legal opinions before French or foreign courts.

Mr Simon Thomas

Mr Emre Can Thomson

Emre is a research assistant at the Department of Civil Law at Koç University Law School. Prior to graduating from the Faculty of Law at Istanbul University he participated in the 27th and 28th Vis Moots, where the Istanbul teams placed successively in the top 64. He received an Honorable Mention for the Martin Domke Award for Best Individual Oralist in the 28th Vis Moot. Since then, he has helped coach the teams of Istanbul University and has acted as an arbitrator in multiple pre-moots. Following the 32nd Vis Moot he has also helped coach the team of Koç University. He is currently drafting his master's thesis at the Graduate School of Social Sciences at Istanbul University.

Ms Maija Tipaine

Maija Tipaine is from Latvia and is acting as counsel and arbitrator. She has participated in Willem C.Vis moot as a student twice and after obtaining LL.M. in international commercial arbitration law at Stockholm University, she has been returning to Vienna as an arbitrator almost every year.

Mr Anuraj Tirthankar

I have advised and represented clients in civil and commercial disputes and domestic arbitrations (ad-hoc and institutional). In many disputes, I have acted as a counsel conducting trials and arguments before arbitral tribunals as well as courts. I have represented clients in several actions for interim relief, the challenge to arbitral awards, and the constitution of arbitral tribunals to resolve disputes.

I have been a part of several high stake arbitration matters across technology, maritime and construction sectors. I have also acted for clients in a variety of matters relating to commercial contracts, shareholder disputes, regulatory disputes, intellectual property rights (particularly in relation to trademarks and copyright), employment matters, consumer-related issues, and tenders.

Dr iur Refik Tiryaki

I am currently pursuing arbitration studies at Paris Panthéon University, taking advantage of a gap year from my profession. I am an energy expert at the Turkish National Energy Market Regulatory Authority and a qualified lawyer in Turkey, with the right to register with the Ankara Bar.

In 2007, I completed my PhD in law, focusing on economic liberties. After several years in the public sector, I decided to transition to private practice and began specializing in arbitration. I have authored several publications, primarily on economic liberties, administrative law, energy policy, and regulation.

Ms VAISHNAVI TIWARI

I hold a BA.LLB from Jiwaji University and an LL.M in Criminal and Security Law from ITM University, Gwalior. I have 2.5 years of experience working in Indian courts, including assisting former Justice Rajesh Tandon and engaging in matters before the Delhi High Court. My work has involved research, drafting, and analysis across criminal, civil, and procedural law. I have also served twice as a judge for events at Maharishi University. I am a recipient of multiple recognitions, including the Uttarakhand Ratan Award and the International Innovation in Education Award.

Mr Ahmet TOKAT

Ahmet Tokat is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Law, Istanbul University, where his doctoral research focuses on the admissibility of evidence in international arbitration. Since 2018, he has been serving as a research assistant at the Faculty of Law, Rize RTE University. He works extensively in the fields of international arbitration and private international law. His academic involvement includes published articles, conference papers, and editorial experience, reflecting his sustained engagement with the discipline. He also acts as an expert witness, a role that provides him with practical insight and further strengthens his academic research.

An alumnus of the Hague Academy of International Law, Ahmet is actively engaged in the “young” initiatives of leading arbitral institutions. He currently serves as the Young ITA Regional Contributor for Turkey. He is also a member of academic networks such as the European Society of International Law (ESIL), the Asian Academy of International Law (AAIL), and the Open Council of Europe Academic Networks (OCEAN).

Ms Serra Irem Topcuoglu

I am an LL.M. Candidate in International Arbitration and Dispute Settlement at Pantheon-Assas University (Paris II) where I receive advanced training in international commercial and investment arbitration under ICC, LCIA, ICSID, and UNCITRAL frameworks. My studies emphasize arbitral procedure, evidentiary assessment, advocacy, and the enforcement and annulment of arbitral awards with focus on comparative approaches. I graduated from Bilkent University Law School in Ankara/Turkey in 2024. I am a qualified lawyer registered with the Ankara Bar Association and worked as a lawyer at Yazıcı Attorney Partnership in Litigation and Dispute Resolution department in Ankara. I assist partners in cross-border disputes and international arbitration related contractual, procedural, and enforcement matters. I also gained exposure to case management techniques, and procedural discretion. I have also completed internships at international arbitration and domestic arbitration focused institutions and leading law firms in Turkey, including Istanbul Arbitration Center (ISTAC), Baker Mckenzie Istanbul (Esin Attorney Partnership), and Akıncı Law Office Istanbul with prof. Dr. Ziya Akıncı where I worked on international and domestic arbitration proceedings involving construction, investment, and commercial disputes. These experiences allowed me to engage closely with written submissions, evidentiary issues, and hearing preparation while developing an appreciation for procedural efficiency, and the role of arbitrators.

Prof Marco Torsello

JD cum laude (Bologna, 1994), LLM in European Business Law (Nijmegen, NL, 1998), Marco Torsello is Partner at ARBLIT – Radicati di Brozolo Sabatini Benedettelli Torsello, Full Professor of Comparative Private Law at Verona Law School, and Global Professor of Law at New York University, School of Law – Law-Abroad Program in Paris. His past Visiting Professorships include those at Bucerius Law School, Hamburg (Fall 2017), NYU, School of Law (Fall 2011 and Fall 2015); Sciences Po, Paris (Spring 2015), Fordham Law School (Fall 2012); University of Pittsburgh, School of Law (Fall 2010); Columbia Law School (2004/05) and many others.
He is the author of several articles and books in English and Italian dealing with comparative law, contract law, international business transactions and other legal issues, including a major monograph in Italian on International Contracts (co-authored with Aldo Frignani) and the Nutshell on International Sales Law-CISG (co-authored with Franco Ferrari).

Mr Michael Toscanelli

Michael Toscanelli is a Swiss-qualified lawyer and was a coach of the University of Zurich Vis Moot team for the years 2022/23 and 2023/24.

He holds a Bachelor and Master degree in Law and Economics and a Master degree in International Management. During his studies, Michael spent exchange terms at the University of Texas in Austin, Bocconi University and the University of Geneva.

Ms Vanessa Tran

I am a legal trainee (Referendarin) at the Regional Higher Court of Frankfurt am Main in Germany. I am currently preparing for the Second State Examination (Zweites Staatsexamen). After passing the First State Examination (Erstes Staatsexamen) in 2024, I began my legal traineeship in 2025 and am currently working with Noerr in Frankfurt am Main in the practice group of arbitration. I previously participated in the 27th Vis Moot Court as a member of the team from the University of Hannover.

Mr Duncan Travis

After many years as a litigation partner at an international firm, Duncan has led Cornwalls' litigation team in Melbourne, Australia since April 2024. He specialises in complex commercial litigation and regulatory investigations, including contractual disputes, class actions, shareholder disputes, professional negligence tax disputes and product liability issues across a range of industries including tech, natural resources, banking and finance, automotive, and property. He participated in the Vis Moot in 2001, and has since judged numerous times both in Vienna and Hong Kong.

Mr Evaristo Treviño Berlanga

Evaristo Treviño Berlanga graduated from law school from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City (2005). He holds a Certificate in Negotiation, Mediation and Arbitration from Humboldt Universität zu Berlin (2004) and a Master of Laws in Chinese and Comparative Law from City University of Hong Kong (2007).

In Mexico he practiced litigation and arbitration for over four years. In Hong Kong he worked for two years in a law firm in the China Practice area. In 2009 he founded La Nao Group, a firm based in Hong Kong integrated by Chinese, Mexican, Argentine, Spanish and Colombian lawyers servicing Latin-American companies dealing in China and Chinese companies dealing with Latin America. He is constantly involved in international disputes and potential disputes between Chinese and Latin American firms.

He is an associate member at the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He has participated in 2015 UNCITRAL Asia Pacific Conferences and 2016 UNCITRAL Trade Law Forum in Incheon, Korea as well as several arbitration events in Hong Kong.

In 2008 he founded The Mexican Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, the first Latin American chamber of commerce in Hong Kong.

Mr Matia Trosic

Matia Trosic is a Legal Counsel at the Swiss Arbitration Centre in Geneva, where he is involved in the administration of arbitration proceedings conducted under the Swiss Rules.

Before joining the Swiss Arbitration Centre, he worked as an associate at Homburger in Zurich, where he represented multinational corporations and sovereign states in disputes arising out of commercial agreements or involving claims in tort, both in arbitration and litigation.

He is a qualified attorney in Switzerland. He holds a Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a Master of Law from the Universities of Zurich and Lausanne, as well as a Bachelor of Law from the University of Lausanne.

Ms Dimitra A. Tsakiri

Dimitra A. Tsakiri is Deputy Counsel at the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), where she is involved in the case management of commercial and investment arbitration cases conducted under the ICC Rules of Arbitration.

Before joining the ICC, Dimitra worked in international arbitration groups of law firms in Austria, Switzerland and Greece. Dimitra has experience in construction, sale of goods, energy and gaming sectors. She has advised private companies and States in proceedings under the ICC, ICSID, VIAC, DIS, DIA and UNCITRAL rules.

Dimitra is qualified in Greece. She obtained her Law Degree from the Faculty of Law of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and her LL.M. from the Graduate Institute and the University of Geneva (MIDS).

Ms Sona Tsaturyan

Sona Tsaturyan is an associate at Schoenherr Attorneys at Law, a leading international law firm in Central and Eastern Europe. She is a registered attorney at the Armenian Bar Association (Chamber of Advocates). She specializes in international arbitration and currently supports Schoenherr's dispute resolution practice group in both investor-state disputes, under ICSID and UNCITRAL Rules, as well as in commercial arbitration proceedings under the ICC, Swiss, DIS, and VIAC rules. Sona studied business law at the Vienna University of Economics and Business - with a focus on international commercial law (LL.B. 2018, LL.M. 2020). During her studies she worked as a legal trainee in a renowned national law firm, focusing on dispute resolution, in Vienna. In addition, she gained international work experience in one of the Big Four tax and accounting firms, in the Tax department, in Vienna and Yerevan.

Ms Tamari Tsertsvadze

Tamar is a Georgian-qualified lawyer currently pursuing an LL.M. in International Dispute Resolution at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and a Master’s degree in Comparative Private and International Law from New Vision University.
Prior to relocating to Germany, she served as Head of the Legal Aid Center at New Vision University, where she supervised law students, trained them in practical legal skills, and provided free legal assistance to vulnerable communities.
Her areas of practice include contract, labour, family, and commercial law. Tamar has been a member of the Georgian Bar Association since 2018, specialising in civil law, and a member of the Mediators Association of Georgia since 2025. In 2017, she participated in the International Commercial Mediation Competition organised by the ICC in Paris.

Ms Ioulia Tsoukanova

Former student of the Arbitration and International Business Law Master Program ( University of Versailles Saint Quentin, France). Ioulia is currently completing French Bar School program ( HEDAC).

I am a twenty year old Tumusiime Shellinah from the beautiful Pearl of Africa, Uganda. I am a graduate of Law from Uganda Christian University. Ever since i finished school on 2019 i have always wanted to be an international commercial arbirator in the world and since then i have been participating in different training programs. I am a member of the center for arbitration and dispute resolution in Uganda. I have participated in various programs that train individuals on how to write arbitral award and behave during in an arbitration session.
I learnt about the vis moot last year and have wanted to participate in the program as an arbitrator so as to learn from colleagues that have been in field for a long time and i will be very glad once i am given the opportunity

Ms Sherlin Tung

Sherlin Hsie-lien Tung (董希琳) is based in Hong Kong with the international arbitration and litigation team at Withers, she is the Director, CEO of the Vis East Moot Foundation, Ltd., and also sits as an independent arbitrator. Sherlin specializes in cross-border corporate and commercial disputes with a particular focus on international commercial arbitration, international contracts, international trade law (notably the CISG), and multi-jurisdiction litigations. She is unique in that she has experience with all aspects of a dispute, from working with a leading international arbitrator to sitting as arbitrator herself, working for a leading international arbitral institution (ICC), then working in-house with a publicly listed international conglomerate, and working in private practice. Mr Mehmet Cemil TÜRK

I graduated with honors from Gazi University Faculty of Law in 2014 and soon after began my academic career as a research assistant in the Chair of Commercial Law at Selçuk University Faculty of Law, where I am still working. In 2019, I completed my master’s degree in private law at Selçuk University Institute of Social Sciences, with a thesis focusing on company law, and I am currently pursuing my PhD in Private Law at the same Institute, with a focus on advanced topics in commercial and company law.

Throughout my time at Selçuk University, I have taught courses such as Commercial Enterprise Law, Company Law, Negotiable Instruments Law, and the Law of Obligations. I have also coached Selçuk University students in moot court competitions organized by the Istanbul Arbitration Centre (ISTAC) and ELSA. My academic contributions include authored books, peer-reviewed articles, and conference papers, primarily concentrating on Commercial Enterprise Law, Company Law, and Negotiable Instruments Law. In addition to my academic role, I have served as an editor for the Selçuk Law Review and the Journal of Selçuk University Vocational School of Justice.

Ms Lika Turmanauli

Lika Turmanauli is a Legal Counsel at Spribe, an international gaming and technology company, where she focuses on dispute resolution and commercial matters, including preparation and negotiation of contracts and cross-border transactions. Her Background includes experience at Gvinadze & Partners, where she assisted in arbitration and litigation and contributed to the launch of the ICC Arbitration and Mediation Rules in Georgian. Lika holds an LL.B. from Free University of Tbilisi and is actively involved in international arbitration initiatives, including the Vis and FDI Moots.

Mr Santtu Turunen

Santtu Turunen is an experienced arbitration professional. He serves as an arbitrator in domestic and international disputes. In addition, Santtu advises companies on conflict management and dispute resolution, emphasizing client mindset and a proactive approach. Santtu has published several articles and edited several publications in the field of arbitration, among others he is the co-author of the book Due Process in International Commercial Arbitration (OUP, 2nd ed. 2010).
